The Importance of Clean, Dry Compressed Air

Why Do I Need a Drain?

Did you know that a typical 75 horsepower compressoroperating in an ambient of 75°F and 75% humidity, canproduce 46 gallons of water in 24 hours? What happens tothat water? Without a high quality drain, this water ends up inthe plant air system as well as the equipment fed by the airsystem. All of this water then causes rust and corrosionwhich creates high repair and maintenance costs!

Water Jeopardizes EverythingYouWantYourCompressed Air System to do. It Ruins Product andFouls Processes.

• In addition to water, compressed air can also containdirt, wear particles, and lubricating fluid

• Sludge blocks valves and orifices, causing highmaintenance and costly air leaks

How MuchWater isToo Much?Any Amount ofWater isToo Much.

Clean, Dry Compressed Air is Essential toYourProduction or Process.

• Productivity is improved and maintenance costs arereduced

• The service life of air tools, motors and cylinders isextended

• The life of your entire compressed air system isprolonged

• Eliminates freezing in outdoor compressed air lines

• Eliminates corrosion in compressed air lines

SoWhat is the Solution?

Make sure all of your compressors, dryers, filters, storagetanks and drip legs all have an energy efficient draininstalled. The trick is to remove the water without losing theair you have paid to compress. This can easily be achievedwith an energy efficient Sullair zero air loss drain.

WhatType of Drain do I Need?

This depends on the equipment on which it is beinginstalled, and the amount of water it needs to remove. Frominexpensive timed solenoid drains to high quality energyefficient drains, Sullair has a drain to fit every application.

Water mixes with thesepollutants to form anunwanted abrasive sludge.

This sludge, often acidic, rapidly wears tools andpneumatic equipment.

Sludge corrodes piping andcan foul product and air-operated devices.

The Ultra is designed to removecondensate from compressors anddryers up to 3600 scfm capacity. Theoperation is automatic and there iszero air lost during the condensatedischarge cycle.

The Ultra also offers manyprogrammable features to allow it tobe customized to the application.Alarm contacts can be programmedN.O. or N.C. Service alarm intervalcan be set, anti-air lock feature can be

set, as well as many other features. Italso offers an array of fault alarmsshould the drain stop functioningcorrectly.

• Zero air loss during the dischargecycle

• Compressed air systems up to3600 scfm

• Simple to install, easy to maintain• Many programmable features• Integrated mesh strainer• Valve is fully serviceable• Anti air lock

The Ultra – Zero Air Loss Drain

The Maxi is designed to removecondensate from compressors anddryers up to 3000 scfm capacity. Italso matches up nicely with largereceiver tanks. The operation isautomatic and there is zero air lostduring the condensate dischargecycle.

The Maxi uses a transducer to sensethe presence of condensate andactivates the valve and comesstandard with an anti-air lock adapter

and strainer service valve. The Maxi isavailable with N.O. or N.C. alarmcontacts.

• Zero air loss during the dischargecycle

• Compressed air systems up to3000 scfm

• Simple to install, easy to maintain• Anti-air lock adapter included• Valve is fully serviceable• c/UL approved

The Maxi – Zero Air Loss Drain

The Mini is designed to removecondensate from air filters up to anysize and type. It utilizes internalmagnets for its power source requiringno electrical power. The operation isautomatic and there is zero air lostduring the condensate dischargecycle.

• No electricity required• Zero air loss during the discharge

cycle• Designed for any size downstream

filters• Simple to install, easy to maintain• Valve is fully serviceable

The Mini – Zero Air Loss Drain

The Timed Solenoid is designed toremove condensate from anycompressed air application. It’sunique design includes a built in shutoff valve and strainer. The strainerprotects the valve and orifice frombecoming plugged with debris andthe shut off valve allows for safeisolation from the air source whenmaintenance is performed.

• Does not air-lock during operation• Works with any size system• Dual thread inlet• Valve is fully serviceable• Mounting can be vertical or

horizontal• Built-in test feature• c/UL approved

Drain Accessories

Hose Pipe ConnectionsHose pipe connectors are a sure and simple way to install thedischarge tubing.

Anti-Air Lock AdapterThe purpose of this adapter is to provide an air passage way inthe filter bowl.

This adapter is typically applied in combination with the Mini

In-Line StrainerThe specially designed in-line ball valve strainer allows foreasy local shut off of zero air loss drains for maintenancepurposes. Any debris is also caught in the mesh strainerprotecting the drain from any blockages and reducingmaintenance to a minimum.

It is specially designed to prevent flow restrictions, which cancause air-locks..

All Inclusive “Peace of Mind”Warranty

Sullair backs our commitment to quality with an unparalleled,non-pro-rated 5 year warranty (parts and labor) on the majorcomponents. No other manufacturer offers a warranty that isas all inclusive. (Note: a Sullair pre-filter must be installedupstream of the dryer as a prerequisite for this warranty.)

Quality isThird Party Certified and Guaranteed.

Dryers are manufactured in an ISO 9001 environment.
