Summer 2020 Undergraduate Study Abroad Scholarship Opportunity The UCF Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence (IC CAE) is now accepting applications for study abroad scholarships for Summer semester 2020. The IC CAE is a grant- funded program, housed in the School of Politics, Security, and International Affairs here at UCF, that seeks to facilitate the professional development of students for future work in intelligence and national security. The IC CAE provides a limited number of study abroad scholarships for students interested in careers in these areas to support language study, cultural immersion, and other necessary professional development. Scholarship awards may to be up to $4,000. They will be awarded competitively to undergraduate students who are interested in these areas with a priority for those who have a financial need. The scholarship is open to many different fields and courses of study, but the student’s course work should reflect material that will enhance his or her knowledge and skills in areas that are beneficial to a career in intelligence and national security. For a list of degrees and skills across the sciences, social sciences, and humanities that are in critical need for the intelligence community please visit http://www.intelligencecareers.gov/. Applicants must: - have a 3.0 overall GPA or higher - be a current degree-seeking undergraduate student at UCF - have a registered study abroad program with the UCF Study Abroad office - show that they are engaging in course work that is relevant to a future career in intelligence or national security, which include analysis and many supporting roles in federal government - be a U.S. citizen - have a minimum stay abroad of four weeks; longer programs are preferred Applicants must provide the following: - Completed application form - A resume or CV - A personal statement of no more than 200 words explaining how your study abroad program will enhance your career goals in intelligence and national security - A letter of recommendation from UCF or state college faculty Students who receive this scholarship may be asked to give a short presentation about their experience when they return. *Applicants should be aware that this award may affect their financial assistance status*
