What an exciting time for our credit union! We will be 80 years young this October and are getting stronger and better each year. I have been fortunate to be a part of FCFCU for 22 years and have seen it grow tremendously over the past few years. Our credit union began when coworkers of the New Orleans Corps of Engineers in 1934 wanted to form their own financial cooperative. They wanted to have a small community where they could help each other with lending and savings products they may not have been able to get elsewhere. Today that sense of community stays with us. As a not for profit financial cooperative, we look for ways to return value back to our members with very competitive rates, great products and services, and a true commitment to give back to our community through volunteering and sponsoring local events that truly benefit us all. The next few months will be even more exciting as we continue to unveil new products. Castle Connect, our on line account aggregation service, allows you to maintain all your on line accounts in one convenient place…Netteller Home Banking. From there you can check your on line credit card balances, investment account balances, and savings balances from any institution, not just First Castle. What a great way to keep up with your accounts. You will also soon be able to take a picture of your check and deposit it straight to your FCFCU account, more easily open an account or apply for a loan on line, and visit an updated and improved web site. All of these enhancements and new services are being put in place to offer you, our member, a more convenient and better experience. We know you have many alternatives when looking for a financial institution, and want you to know we are truly honored to continue to serve you, your family, and our community. First Castle FCU is 80 Years Strong!

This year is an extra special time for us at FCFCU and for our members. We are proud to be the second oldest federally chartered credit union still in existence. We have grown to not only serve our Corps of Engineers members in New Orleans but as of October 2007 all of St. Tammany Parish as well.

In addition to our original office in New Orleans, we have locations in Covington and Slidell. We also belong to the shared branch network and have a suite of mobile services that give convenience to all. We are 80 years strong and getting better every day!

Our History

In early 1934 several employees from the New Orleans District Corps of Engineers came together in the desire to create a place where they could save their money safely and securely and have the opportunity to be granted credit if needed. What they ended up doing was creating the 5th federally chartered credit union in the United States (approved October 1934) and they called it New Orleans Second District Engineers Federal Credit Union.

Today that Credit Union is known as First Castle Federal Credit Union. We welcome all of you to explore all of our services and experience the First Castle Credit Union difference!
