The first event is the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce "Eat Local & Win" giveaway event running now through August 31st. The second event is a Locally Grown Farm toTable Dinner on Saturday, September 12th.

We are hosting this meal in conjunction with theNeighborhood Co-op and Food Works "Eat LocalChallenge" by partnering with the SIUC Farm toFork Sustainable Vegetable Farm and otherfarmers to create a meal featuring localingredients. The cost is $30.00/adults and$15.00/children 4-12 (free for children 3 and under) with 50% of the proceeds goingto benefit the Good Samaritan House. Seating will be limited, so call us soon at529-4303 for more information or to reserve your spot!

On display and for sale in our diningroom now through August 17th areposters and prints by Merchop.

Merchop is a local business that makescustom screen printed apparel, can huggers,stickers, posters and more.

A reception with the artist willtake place here on Saturday,August 1st from 6-8pm.

Our next art show we be a display of vibrant and colorful paintings byTabitha Tripp. Her paintings will be hanging in our dining room from

September 1st through September 26th.

An Opening Reception with the artist will be held onSaturday, September 5th from 6-8 pm.

6Pence Artist SpotlightOur first featured artist this month is Yoko Kawazoe. Yoko is a multi-facetedartist who lives in Carbondale and works in a variety of mediums. Currently,we carry her adorable felted critters, pillowcase dresses and shirts in manysizes and patterns, and fun pom-pom earrings. Yoko's creations make greatgifts for adults and children alike!.

Our second featured artist is oursuper-talented resident portraitartist and graphic designer, MartyHagler. Marty designed ourfantastic new t-shirt, and it wasprinted by our current artist ondisplay in dining room, Merchop.These are $15.00 each, and areavailable in many sizes. For youtraditionalists, Merchop alsoprinted our baker-man logo shirtsin a variety of colors, in toddlersizes, and onesies too!

More Stuff to Know...Great news for everyone wanting to use fresh flowers to decorate yourwedding cake! Chautauqua Bend Cut Flower Farm is a local farm in theirfirst year in business, and we are very excited to partner with them.

Fresh flowers make lovely decorations, but it can be difficult to findorganically-grown flowers that can safely come into contact with your cake.By partnering with Chautauqua Bend, we now have seasonal access topesticide-free flowers that are not only beautiful, but locally-grown as well.And they offer edible flower options too. Contact us or them early to discussthe possibilities!
