At that time, I made the decision to join the Co-op program option. Co-ops allow students to gain valuable professional work experience while completing their degrees. You might think that a Co-op delays your education, but it’s really not the case. My one year Co-op work term expanded my professional network and opened the door to future full-time employment in my field. Now, I’m a Chartered Professional Accountant, and have taken up a leadership position with a major provincial not-for-profit. I love what I do! My employer fully funded my return to the UofR to complete the Executive Master of Business Administration degree, which was an incredible experience.
