Child care providers serving children birth to 5 years old must complete the three-part program: Part I, Rules and Regulaon — Center Based; Part II, Introducon to Child Care Worker Cerficaon; and Part III, Appropriate Pracces Component. (UDAP + One (1) -5 hour course or One (1) -10 hour Special Needs course.) 30-HOUR FAMILY CHILD CARE The Child Care providers serving children in their home, must complete a two-part course. Part I focuses on Rules and Regulaons governing licensed Family child care homes and Part II covers Introducon to Child Care Worker Cerficaon. Part I and Part II require that the parcipant pass a competency exam with a score of 70% or higher given by Department of Children and Families.

Palm Beach State College recognizes the efforts of child care and afterschool professionals in Palm Beach County to provide quality care for young children and youth.

40-HOUR CHILD CARE CENTER

This PSAV program fulfills the child care training required by the Florida Department of Children and Families for child care providers working in a licensed child care facility. Child care providers serving children birth to 5 years old must complete the three-part program: Part I, Rules and Regulation — Center Based; Part II, Introduction to Child Care Worker Certification; and Part III, Appropriate Practices Component. (UDAP + One (1) -5 hour course or One (1) -10 hour Special Needs course.)

Part 1: Rules and Regulations — Family (HEV0118) — This course is designed to give family child care providers, substitutes and informal providers an overview of the state and local rules and regulations that govern the child care industry. (This course replaces the three-hour fundamentals of Family Child Care.) The goal of this course is to ensure that family child care professionals recognize the primary laws which govern child care in Florida and understand the role of the regulatory agencies that enforce those laws. *FL Res.
