WELCOME TO SUMMER 2020!Amesbury Recreation has been working hard all winter long to put together the best of summer programs for you and your friends to attend this year. We have added more than ever and we are very pleased to announce that we have partnered with the Amesbury High School Athletic Department to offer summer clinics coached by your very own varsity coaches! Take a look through this year’s catalog to find which programs fit your interests and don’t be afraid to try something new! Programs are grouped by category and no two sections are alike! Not an Amesbury resident? Not a problem! Out of town residents may apply to all our programs beginning March 10th for $10 extra!

Registration begins February 18th at 8:00amTo register for all of our summer programs please go to www.AmesburyRec.com.

Sign up instructions are listed on page 16 of this catalog. Remember, nothing ends a program faster than waiting until the last minute to sign up. Many of our programs have minimums and maximums required to run them. If program minimums are not met, they will be canceled! When program maximums are reached, we’ll start a waiting list

but cannot guarantee a spot for anyone who does not register before that time. Thanks for spending your summer with us!

Sports Zone Intro to Golf — Amesbury Middle School Softball Field (use Rosedale St entrance)Ages 3-5Golf is a lifelong sport. The smell of the fresh-cut grass, the crisp morning air, the feeling of the perfect tee shot – it’s hard not to love a few hours on the greens. But what makes golf even better is playing with friends and loved ones. We can’t promise that we will produce the next pro golfer in our program, but we can guarantee that your children will have lots of fun, be introduced to traditional golf grips and hitting stances, and get a little practice with putting and chipping. Using the U.S. Kids Golf Early Start program, each class will consist of short lessons followed by small group activities. Our goal is to introduce the children to the game of golf in a fun and interactive way so they can join you on the greens one day! July 13-July 17 10:00am-10:45am $60 Mon-Fri

Silly Games With Sports Zone — Amesbury Middle School Softball Field (use Rosedale St entrance)Ages 3-5Children of all ages love to be silly and have fun, especially the youngest of us. We see this firsthand every time we run our Silly Games program! We will play games like: Builders and Bulldozers, where children either build or bulldoze cones set up around the gym; Bowling for Noodles, like real bowling but with pool noodles; and Kooky Relays! Each game is designed specifically for our Tot friends and include elements that help further develop the fine and gross motor skills of our young Champions. Participants also have the opportunity to practice working together, sharing with other children, and working on their problem-solving skills. July 13-July 17 11:00am-11:45am $60 Mon-Fri

Sports Zone Battleground Nerf — AES Baseball FieldAges 9-14Come test your individual and team effectiveness as a participant in our Nerf RIVAL Battlegrounds! The RIVAL series is designed with Nerfer’s ages nine and up in mind, as it features high-performance, high-speed Nerf blasters that are perfect for competitive, team-based play. If you have ever wanted to try out Paint ball, this is a great, safe alternative! The RIVAL blasters use squishy Nerf pellets, which is perfect for competitive gaming because players can feel when they get hit, but the pellets don’t hurt like Paint ball or Air soft. This awesome program puts a fresh spin on traditional games like Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, and Zone Wars, while also allowing participants to get great exercise, learn strategic planning skills, and make new battle-tested friends. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. Aug 3- Aug 7 9:00am-12:00pm $135 Mon-Fri
