CHARACTER IS WHAT MATTERS Building character and practicing the principles are at the core of the YMCA programming. At summer camp your camper will learn:• CARING: Putting others first. Being kind and

expressing gratitude.• HONESTY: Keeping their promises. Building a

good reputation and being loyal.• RESPECT: Being courteous and polite. Having

good manners and valuing others.• RESPONSIBILITY: Always do your best. Be ac-

countable for your choices.

WHY CHOOSE THE Y FOR YOUR CHILD'S SUMMER? The YMCA knows children. We are professional and our camps offer things no parent can do on their own. Children need to spend time outdoors, practicing social and decision making skills that are new to them, while being inspired by "heroes" -- the YMCA Camp Counselors. Our camps are safe. We have value-based programming focused on caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. We hope your family can become part of our family.

At the YMCA, our Summer Camps are ACA accredited, which means that we maintain the highest standards regarding program quality. We believe the most important elements of a positive Summer Camp experience are the safety and well-being of your child.

SAFETY IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY Your child's safety is the number one priority at our camps! Each camp counselor/lead staff attends extensive training where they obtain certification first aid and CPR. In addition, they learn the Y's emergency procedures, child abuse prevention, customer service and the preparation and implementation of age appropriate activities for each specific camp. The counselors are terrific!

"My daughter lost 6 pounds during the summer. She was able to climb rope by the end of camp, a huge accomplishment."

"I am very pleased that the counselors watch the campers behavior and report to parents. Teens need constant knowledge the Y values, staff and parents are united in their beliefs and do not condone many of our pop cultures and values which teens have to wade through."

"In Kamp Kindergarten, my daughter gained a better understanding of healthy living and healthy habits by taking care of the garden, learning to eat healthy snacks, and recycling."

"I was so happy to see that the Y was offering this camp. Kids need to keep up their academics during the summer. The camp made it fun and easy to keep up with math and reading skills." (Academic Camp)

"My son enjoyed Academic Camp, and the teachers were awesome!"

CIT Testimonial

"I have learned so many things on how to take care of kids and have fun even when things get stressful. I have known for a long time that I would like to be a teacher, this has reinforced that I really enjoy working with children especially when you see their faces light up when they do something new."
