The Eloise Butler Wildfower Garden and Bird Sanctuary is 112 years old this year. In 1907, the Wildfower Garden was founded with a vision to create a dynamaic

and beautiful naturalistic, native plant focused garden for nature enthusiasts of all ages to enjoy. Te founder, Eloise Butler, was a school teacher who wanted to create a special sanctuary that students of nature could visit to learn about the intricacies and wonders of the native plants of our region. Now over a century later, her incredible legacy lives on.

Free public Wildfower Garden programs take place on the weekends and during the week. Find a date that works well for you on the calendar on pages 8-13. Te Nature Tots preschool programs are a great way for younger visitors to take delight in the Garden’s enchantment.
