"FOOD FOR THOUGHT" for our RCIA Class Needed!

Our RCIA class meets after mass on Sunday's in the Walnut Room. This makes for a long morning with Mass followed by Class, so it sure is nice to have some "food for thought"!

If you are willing and able to provide a snack, please sign up in the back of church for the Sunday of your choice! We are currently scheduling through the summer classes!

Thank you SO MUCH for your help! There are 8 people in class, so donuts, muffins, fruit, a casserole or...whatever you can provide will be much appreciated!

Peter and Paul, Apostles Lord Jesus Christ, you called Saint Peter from a life he knew, to follow you alone, giving up all he’d known before. Despite his failings and lack of faith in you and himself, you entrusted to him the keys of the kingdom of heaven, granting him such faith that he embraced martyrdom. You called Saint Paul from the life he knew, a life of such zeal that he became misguided, hurting you by hurting those who followed you. You changed him from an angry persecutor to the greatest missionary the Church has ever seen, and to one who welcomed death as the means to see you. When I am called to do your will, change my spirit and grant that I can give up the little you ask of me, when Peter and Paul gave so much.

Like to win gift cards? Gift cards make great prizes for many booths at our summer social. Scrips (gift cards) can be purchased through the church office or by contacting Patti Green (812)-449-5971. Perhaps a "dinner and a movie" or gift card tree could be donated to the Basket booth. Sub-way, DQ, and iTunes make nice prizes for the Kids n More booth. Please consider purchasing Scrips to make your large food purchases too- (GFS and Wesselmans). Remember, the school get a percentage of all sales at no cost to you. JULY 8th!

Big Money Raffle Tickets

Tickets for the Big Money raffle are $20 each and are available at the Parish office (812-838-2535). Someone will be selling them after the Masses also. Drawing will be held at the Social on July 9th.

This officially licensed raffle by the State of Indiana and conducted by the St. Matthew Catholic Church goes to help close the gap between expenses and income each year for our Parish. Without the pro-ceeds we would have to reduce what we do for the community both inside and outside of our parish. With it we can continue to have a vibrant parish that has a future in Mt. Vernon.

We are so blessed to have amazing volun-

teers like Mike Collins to mow our parish campus and Cookie Bradford has been working so hard on the front of the parish office and areas around the school too. Don and Elizabeth Baier plant beautiful flowers and maintain areas such as the CCM flower beds, the parish office flower beds, areas around the school and also the area between the church and convent. Jen Bohleber keeps our pots in front of the church blooming as well as our church interior beau-tifully decorated and John has been known to spray some weeds! Tiffany Lindenschmidt has been working areas around the Rectory as does Nancy Simon and Diana Hoehn. Patty Green has been working on other ar-eas around the church and recently cleaned around our parking lot fence. Kim Krieger, Diane Heberer and Phylis Levin pitch in on multiple areas as well. A huge thanks to these amazing volunteers! If I missed you and the special work you do on our grounds, please let me know! We are SO Blessed and
