Dear Family and Friends,

This year has been full of activities from medical brigades to traveling and visiting

friends, family and supporters in the US. We are so grateful for the protection God provides as

we travel to so many different places.

February arrived, and with it the medical brigade. It was a huge blessing to have 17 peo-

ple arrive to help complete our goal of serving in small communities in both the spiritual and

physical needs of the people. In the week they were with us , we were able to serve 4 communi-

ties, attending over 1000 people and seeing more

than 100 people come to Christ. I was also over-

joyed to see the overwhelming support of our na-

tional brethren helping out each day. We had a

total of around 34 people going out to serve. I am

grateful for the Lord’s protection over each one

who traveled so far to help the people in the San

Luis area.

March brought my brother, Brad Melton, and lots of

work! What a huge blessing he was to our ministry, as

well as being enjoyed by 4 little nephews, in the two

weeks he was with us. Uncle Brad is just cool! Also

this month, we had such a huge answer to prayer con-

cerning a much-needed water tank. It belonged to a

local gas company that had left it sitting unused for

about 7 years. Miraculously, the Lord softened their

hearts to donate the 11,000 gallon tank to the ministry

here in San Luis. The tank has a value of around

$10,000 – the Lord is good!

There is a saying that goes something like,

“Give a man a fish, and you help him for a day; teach

him to fish, and you help him for the rest of his life.”

Melton Messenger For many years in Honduras, the missionaries have taught, sacrificed,

and led by example so our Honduran brethren could follow; and, so to

speak, “learn how to fish.” It is interesting to see the positive impact

each missionary has had on the work and brought it to where we are to-

day. God has blessed and the ministry is moving forward: New church-

es are being opened, works that were closed are now being reopened

and present works are growing.

For the last several years our focus has been on trying to help the

national brethren to realize the work belongs to them. The biggest hur-

dle they have is finances. When they look at how much it costs to maintain the ministries, it

looks like a very difficult task. Around 4-5 years ago, I asked the Lord what else He had for

us in Honduras . He whispered to me that we had a little less than 30 acres in San Luis and

we were not using it to its fullest potential. With ideas the Lord has given me, I have been

able to be a tool in the Lord’s hand. The idea for many projects have been put into place and

these, in turn, will provide a steady income to cover the monthly expenses of the ministry.

The final outcome: They are self-supported! See the last page for a list of the projects and the

process of each one.

Please continue to pray for us as we help the nationals reach for this goal and that

these projects would be a success and used for His glory. Thank you to each one who has

given for many of these projects as well as for the financial support of our family. We have

felt the prayers of many of you and are so grateful for those that lift us up in prayer so faith-

fully.

We have planted around 500 mahogany trees – this is a 30-year or

more project.

We’ve set up 7 Honey bee hives – honey bees with no stingers

(isn’t that great?). Our goal is 20 hives.

We have planted 13,000 coffee trees. It will be at least another

year before they begin to produce.

We have had a chicken project for the

last several years with good results. We

have 300 chickens and are selling close to

7,000 eggs each month. Since it went

well, we have a goal of purchasing 1,000 chickens in the next couple of

weeks.

Our new water well is proving to be a huge blessing not only to the

clinic and mission property but soon to the community. Dr. John Col-

lins has donated a UV water system so that we can verify the quality

of the water to a high enough standard that we can bottle the water and sell it in the communi-

ty to help support the ministry.

Four tilapia fish ponds are being used to help support the Bible school.

160 Allspice trees are being planted, along with about 1,500 banana trees in between.
