AFFLINK has been recognized in the Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s list of “100 Great Supply Chain

Projects for 2015.”This year's list honors leading supply

chain solution and service providers who have demonstrated utmost leadership assisting their clients in reaching supply chain excellence. According to the S&DCE Organization, these companies are leaders who have produced measurable gains in ROI through cost-cutting and increased efficiency—whether in warehouse, transportation, procurement sourcing and other categories in the end-to-end supply chain.”

“Our eLev8® process enabled Zodiac Aerospace to uncover opportunities and implement new programs that resulted in immediate and ongoing supply chain savings,” said Dennis Riffer, President and CEO of AFFLINK. “We are honored to have this initiative included in S&DCE’s distinguished list of 100 Great Supply Chain Projects for 2015, but truly our goal is to find innovative ways to reduce supply chain costs for all our clients.”

The S&DCE judges evaluated the project submissions based on:

• Ambitiousness and scope of each project

• Creative application of technologies, solutions, and services used

• Extent of the business results and impact

• Clarity of each submission

AFFLINK’s submission highlighted reducing supply chain costs for Zodiac Aerospace through their Performance for Growth Initiative. With the help of AFFLINK and the eLev8 process, Zodiac Aerospace showed a 17% savings across 14 of their North American manufacturing plants. The initiative spanned multiple categories, including Corrugated, Abrasives, Tape, Packaging, Poly Bags, Restroom Supplies, Safety/MRO, and Labels; allowing eLev8 to track down $634,900.00 in supply chain savings through product and process improvements. Zodiac Aerospace – Cabin and Structures successfully reached their target within seven months of the one year program timeframe.

The Next Generation of ELEVATE Has Arrived

Launching at Summit this month, the Next Generation of ELEVATE will be unveiled to Members and Suppliers as

the latest innovation AFFLINK’s undertaken to keep our organization at the forefront of the industry.

Based on the research conducted by many third-party consultants, we realized over the past 18 months that the market was indeed changing. Our customers—the new Millennial purchasing agents—are bringing a consumer- minded experience with them into the B2B world. The online research and “shopping” exercises they perform to acquire goods and services at home are now bleeding into the day-to-day activities of their professional careers in strategic sourcing.

Along with this shifting trend came the realization that traditional methods of reaching these people, through in-person sales calls and print catalogs, were fast becoming obsolete. And that in order to keep our value proposition top-of-mind, we realized the necessity to

engage the customer differently if we were to remain relevant in the decision-making process.

In essence, we had to:

• Reach them in the manner they wanted to be reached (online)

• Design and deliver a customer-centric experience

• Be a resource (non-sales) by providing consistent, relevant content

• Create intuitive platforms that encourage interaction and engagement to allow for problem-solving

• Increase brand trust with testimonials, peer reviews and proof sources

• Be easy to do business with

These guiding principles became the foundation for the development of ELEVATE. And, in less than 12 months, we took this concept and made it into a reality. With the launch of ELEVATE to the end-user, we can now fill the funnel faster—bringing more value through top-line sales to our Member and Supplier partners than ever before.

connecting the dots16

As you may have heard, AFFLINK recently created a new steering committee to integrate the next

generation of leaders into our organization. The Emerging Executive Steering Committee is comprised of under-40 executives who are second, third and fourth generation leaders from their respective businesses. The Emerging Executives endeavor to advocate for innovative ideas addressing the needs of millennials as they rapidly transition into the majority of employees and consumers.

“The idea of Emerging Executives was initially brought up during Summit 2014, where discussions were had among the Members about engaging the next generation of executives within the group,” said Michael Wilson, VP of Marketing for AFFLINK. “The up and coming leaders of these organizations have great ideas and different needs than their predecessors and simply need a place to connect, build relation-ships and share their thoughts. That’s why we felt compelled to create E2.”

Despite hailing from all across the country, the group felt an immediate kinship as they share similarly unique roles and responsibilities. They got off to an energetic start planning the framework for the group and additional social gatherings. The founding members wrote a mission and charter for the steering committee.

Passionate young leaders, the Emerging Executives are charging full-steam ahead.

Since the initial breakout planning session, at National Planning Meeting, the group has grown from 12 members to 22. They have met monthly via conference call and video conference and have already come up with some great ideas to implement within the AFFLINK organization.

The committee wrote and completed a self-survey of their strengths and needs and endeavored to solve for the most pressing issues. Their initial priority was to build a peer network and develop mentoring relationships. To this end, AFFLINK is launching a new mentoring program to meet this need at Summit 2015.

AFFLINK MENTORING PROGRAM

The AFFLINK Mentoring Program was

designed at the request of the Emerging

Executives Steering Committee to foster

professional growth and networking through

a community of familiarity, respect and

confidentiality. We believe that such a program

fosters a mutually beneficial relationship,

bridging generations and creating value for

both the mentor and the mentee.

Spending time with a peer can spark a

change in your business and start a meaningful

relationship with a trusted colleague. If this

is something that interests you, find out more

information at Summit or contact Lacey

Anderson at [email protected].

JOIN US IN DUBLINOur trip begins in Dublin. We’ll arrive at the Shelbourne Hotel on May 9th and start with a welcome reception. Dublin wears its heart on its sleeve. Friendly locals, rich history and brilliant personality make Dublin the perfect start to our Gold Coast Tour! Visit Trinity College; learn about Irish Football and hurling; and spend some time wandering Grafton Street, the city’s liveliest pedestrian shopping mall.

Have a pint at the Guinness Storehouse. We are convening for an evening at the venerable Guinness Storehouse for dinner and live entertainment. Listen to a U2 tribute band while sampling the most famous draught of the Emerald Isle.

DAY TRIPS TO BELFAST OR KILKENNYBelfast, in Northern Ireland, is a city with a rich sailing history. The birthplace of the Titanic and home to beautiful St. Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast is a top tourist destination for Irish travelers. Take a must see tour through the museum commemorating Belfast's shipbuilding industry — and the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's only voyage — the Titanic Belfast, a £100-million visitors center, opened in April 2012.

If you are interested in a more ancient past, take a trip to Kilkenny. The past echoes in every footstep as you walk through the medieval city of Kilkenny.

Page 21: Summit CTD Final rv4 web

19 summer 2015

Explore its ancient laneways, wonder at the majestic Kilkenny Castle, experience the glorious Canice's Cathedral and visit Rothe House, the only example of a 17th century merchant’s townhouse in Ireland.

RING OF KERRY BY RAILWe’ll travel by rail in a private train across the Ring of Kerry to the sunny Gold Coast of Ireland. We’ll play eighteen holes on the greenest greens you’ve ever seen in Killarney. There, we’ll stay at The

Europe Hotel, a sleek structure that lends an air of modern spa-like luxury.

SHOPPING OR OUTDOOR ADVENTURE IN KILLARNEY

We’re adventuring along the Gap of Dunloe. The Gap of Dunloe is Ireland’s most spectacular valley. Gorged by glaciers, it is a place of wild mountain terrain where the beautiful scenery has inspired travelers for

thousands of years. We are taking a jaunting pony cart over a path through the Gap, situated between clear lakes and surrounded by jagged mountain terrain.

The small city of Killarney features some killer shopping in a lovely walkable setting. If you are up for more out-door adventures, tour the lakes surrounding Killarney by boat or horseback. We’ll wrap our trip with a Celtic celebration at Jarvey’s Pub in Killarney. Dinner and Irish dancing will highlight our revelry on the Gold Coast.

SAVE THE DATESThe New Latitudes program runs from

June 1 through December 31, 2015. We’ll travel May 9–16, 2016. Sign up for the program online by July 1st, 2015, or visit the New Latitudes booth in the AFFLINK Marketplace during Summit 2015.
