Description:
This map is an updated view of the The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve, the BSA's fourth national high adventure base and permanent home for the national Scout jamboree. This map features terrain and activity centers that now bear names of donors who have funded the project. The second page includes camping village layouts where Scouts will live during their time at the national jamboree.

It’s all about the Scout.

We are dreaming big.

Every inch of the site was designed to maximize the Scout’s experience, now and for the next 100 years.

We open our doors July 2013.

We are marketing directly to the Scout and listening like never before.

Smart use of technology = a life-long relationship with the Scout.

It’s the ultimate customer experience.

The Summit gives us the opportunity for year-round programming.

Donations are building the property; customer fees and sponsorships will economically sustain it in perpetuity.

We continually get better at what we do daily.

Create World Jamboree–style Scouting neighborhoods

Scouts to participate in one day of community service

Incorporate cutting-edge tech-nology in daily operations

Employ a smarter logistics and supply model

Offer world-class programming to keep a Scout’s adrenaline pumping

Provide separate and different, but equally exciting experiences for visitors and participants.

Staff a site powered by volun-teers, guided by experts, and managed by pros

Go green and go healthy

Offer an unforgettable experi-ence so they will want to come back again and again

Sustain the Scouting movement for the next 100 years by ex-panding Scouting’s reach to new audiences for decades to come

Ten Things to Know about the Summit

What We Will Achieve at the 2013 Jamboree

Summit Center includes an amphitheater that can hold up to 80,000 people for opening and closing arena shows. Summit Center will also give visitors a chance to experience a taste of the Jamboree.

Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve

Part of the Summit Center will be devoted to giv-

ing paid daily visitors an action-packed glimpse into

the world of Scouting. The visitor experience at the

jamboree is going to be amazing!

Service has always been a huge part of Scouting

and is an important part of the jamboree. On one of

five designated days, Scouts will head out into the

surrounding area for a day of giving back.

The Visitor Experience at the Summit Day of Giving Back

Action Point, located in the Summit Center, will include smaller versions of the types of activities going on in the base camps. There will be climbing activities, skateboarding, BMX, canopy tours, and mountain biking.
