DIARY DATES PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear Parents, Carers and Community,

Welcome back to all families for the start of Term 2. I would initially like to thank and congratulate all our students and staff on a very successful and productive Term 1. At the end of last term we held our Easter Hat Parade. It was fantastic! This was our first event since COVID where we welcomed families to attend. It was amazing to see the support of the community and the smiles on the students faces as they paraded around. A massive thanks to our P&C Committee and parents for volunteering to organise the Easter raffle and to our parents for the donations received. There were so many prizes!

This term Mrs Dezius will take up a job share role with Mrs Hocking on K/1. Mrs Dezius will be on K/1 every Friday while Mrs Hocking is on leave.

ANZAC DAY Last Friday our school held an ANZAC Ceremony. Our Year 6 students led the assembly and students from each class were invited to lay their own floral tributes. All students showed great respect for, and understanding of, the importance of this ceremony.

Our leaders represented the school at the Dawn Service and carried out an exceptional job during their official ANZAC Day duties at Pelican RSL, commemorating the importance of the sacrifice made by our military personnel. They are to be commended on the manner in which they carried themselves.

MATHEMATICS PROFESSIONAL LEARNING We have commenced ‘Starting Strong K-2’ and ‘Big Ideas 3-6’ Professional Learning for our staff. This Professional Learning will run until the end of the year for our staff. Professional Learning is founded in current evidence-based practices and we are very excited. We are so enthusiastic about our Maths Curriculum and Pedagogy operating in all classrooms. I would sincerely like to thank our staff for their ongoing dedication and commitment to continuous improvements for our students.

MOTHERS’ DAY BPS will be holding a Mothers’ Day breakfast on Thursday 6 May from 8am - 9am. As per note sent home this week with students, the school will be providing bacon and egg rolls with tea and coffee for our mums.
