GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 18, 2014 Once again, we invite you to participate in Communion and Liberation’s Annual Way of the Cross on Good Friday, April 18th. Timothy Cardinal Dolan and Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio will join us at the opening service at 10:00AM in St. James Cathedral in Brooklyn. The procession will follow the cross to a second station on the Brooklyn Bridge, a third station at City Hall Park in Manhattan, and a fourth station near Ground Zero. The final station will be at St. Peter’s Church on Barclay Street, concluding at 1:30pm. At each station, there will be readings from the Passion, a meditation, a reflection and hymns. The entire walk is two and one-half miles long. We reserved a coach bus for our parish that will leave promptly from St. Rita’s at 8:30am at the Westwood Avenue parking lot. Please be there by 8:15am. The bus will meet us after the service at 1:45pm at St. Peter’s Church. The bus should return to St. Rita’s by 3:00pm for our Good Friday liturgy. The offering to help defray the bus cost is $20.00 per adult and $5.00 per child under 12 years of age. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please reserve your seat early as the bus was filled last year. For more information visit www.wocbrooklynbridge.com.

Several parishioners have requested to purchase a leaf on the TREE OF LIFE. Since the tree we have was recently completed, we installed a

second tree on the wall on the right side of the church. We invite you to participate in our Tree of Life by donating a leaf or foundation stone to be engraved with your special message of remembrance of a loved one, dedicated to a family, or congratulations for a special occasion. You may select up to twenty letters and spaces on each line and up to four lines. If you are interested in purchasing a leaf or stone or for information, please call the parish office.
