PARISH MISSION STATEMENT We the people of St. Pius X Parish are formed by the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Baptism to become part of the Mystical Body of Christ. We strive through the power of Christ in the Holy Sacrifice to the Mass to show forth God’s transforming love to teach Gospel values; to share time, talent and treasure in good Steward-ship, to invite all to share our joy and share Jesus’ message of His Father’s love with all around us and to re-store all things in Christ.

FAITH FORMATION PROGRAM: CCD Our Faith Formation program is open to all children from Kindergarten age to grade 8. All chil-dren must have a required two years of instructions prior to the reception of the sacraments. If you are registering your child for the first time, please bring his baptismal certificate with you. Classes are on Sun-days at 9:45 A.M. sharp. If your child is over the age of 8 and is not yet bap-tized, we offer the Rite of Christian Initiation adapted for children. Please call Mrs. Jean for more details. SPECIAL NOTICE TO PARENTS: Children should receive the sacraments in their own parish. RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults The RCIA is the process by which people can ques-tion, search and inquire into the Catholic faith. It is for any unbaptized individual over the age of 8. The RCIA is also for any adult who was baptized in anoth-er Christian tradition and for baptized Catholic adults seeking to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please contact Fr. Miguel at 718-525-9099. BECOME AN ALTAR SERVER AT SAINT PI-US! Boys and girls who have received their First Communion are invited to become altar servers. Par-ents are encouraged to speak to their children about this special pastoral ministry for the young people in the church. Please call the rectory for info. 6 WEEKS WITH THE BIBLE - 6 WEEKS WITH THE BIBLE - Please join us as we reflect on the Sunday readings of Lent “Around the Lenten Circle” We meet every Tuesday at 7:30 PM in the rectory, for more information please call the rectory 718-525-9099 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We should always try to better ourselves at all

times. However, during Lent, we get a chance to examine ourselves, get rid of bad habits of sins, and pick up good habits of prayer, penance and

giving generously of ourselves to others. We need to be honest with ourselves if we want to change. To be realistic about what we can do. Instead of saying, “I will pray more”, we can make specific plans to pray an extra 15 minutes a day for some-

one for a duration of time. We need to make Christ part of our journey if we are to change. We cannot expect to carry our crosses alone.

God does not expect us to. Lent is a time to make room for the coming season. May you find peace

and joy on your way to freedom.
