Season of Service THANK YOU!Thank you to all who participated in the Season of Service project last Saturday in cleaning up neighborhood properties in south Scottsdale.  We had about 180 workers from three churches who came together to work as teams.  Chaparral had about 20 participants.  The residents and the City of Scottsdale are greatly appreciative of all the hard work and time spent.

Reflecting back on their neighborhood clean up project, Marilyn Johnson noted, “one of my highlights was when we were having our picture taken in the front yard and Mrs. Kennedy (who was standing beside me) put her arm around my waist and gave me a squeeze. After we were all done and picking up our tools, the ladies that lived there kept looking at the front yard and saying how much they liked it and couldn’t stop looking at it."

Adult MinistriesFaithbuilders Dinner Groups

Wishing you had a chance to get better acquainted with other adults at Chaparral?  Consider signing up with the Faithbuilders Class during January.  Several times during the year small dinner groups are formed.  The new groups will meet in various host homes two or three times in the coming months for a shared meal.  Singles and couples are most welcome to join in the fun.  You can receive more information by attending the class on Sundays, 9:45 in the East Hall.  Newcomers are welcome!

Hait i Mission Opportunites: April 15th-23rdA trip to Northwest Haiti Christian Mission is planned for April 15-23.  Though this trip is centered around a medical surgical team, no medical experience is needed, just your presence to assist the

surgeons and a willingness to help wherever necessary.

There are plenty of babies to be held, prayers to be given, encouragement and hands to hold for those preparing for surgery and plenty of opportunities to be the presence of Christ in a land that is in need of hope.  As the date is fast approaching, plans need to be made.  For additional information,

please contact Wayne Worthington.

New Members Class continues...tonight!

These classes are taught by our senior minister, Frank Shirvinski. This is a great way for newer people to learn more about our Church and its ministries, not to mention how to get involved, what we believe, and the history of our Church. It will also be an opportunity to meet the ministry team!

The class will conclude with a casual dinner on January 28th in the Commons from 6:00 to 7:30. We would love to spend some time with you to get to know you better! Sign up online today!

Cupid’s MessengersTeen choir is offering carnations and corsages with scriptures attached for Valentine's Day. Please stop by the donut booth to pre-order your carnations for loved ones. • We would like to get to know you! Each pew has a Welcome Book in which you can let us know prayer requests, sign up for events and update your information. Please pass the Welcome Book down the row so we can hear from everyone!

• Communion/Lord’s Supper All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of Communion. If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with our Savior, you are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30)

• Offering In our first two services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an act of worship and voluntary. During our third service there will not be a time specific for offering but rather boxes are placed at the entry to allow for giving as you are led.

• Nursery We have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on the north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions.

Flowers on the pulpit are provided by Marty Rozelle in memory of George Rozelle.

Flowers on the stage are provided by Carol Pownall in loving memory of Larry Pownall.

We hope your worship experience with us will be meaningful. To help you feel a bit more comfortable with our campus and morning programs, we have included a few recommendations. We are glad you are here today!
