A Friend Author Unknown
I went out to find a friend.
But could not find one there.
I went out to be a friend
And friends were everywhere.
We would like to thank
everyone who was a part of
helping with VBS this year.
Without your help, it would not have been the success
that it was. Nick, Tammy and Melvin.
There is a need for 2 liter bottles with the lids
for Camp Wabashi. If you have any
donations or questions, please see Ed Warner.
To my Eastside Family, my deepest thanks
and appreciation to all who have been so
loving and supportive during my recent
surgery and now recuperation. For the
visits, cards, food, flowers and other expressions of love
and caring. I’m doing well. “My cup runneth over!”
Love in Christ, Carole Turner.

Lord, Show Me How Via BulletinGold
If I can do some good today,
If I can serve along life’s way,
If I can something helpful say,
Lord, show me how.
If I can right a human wrong,
If I can help to make someone strong,
If I can cheer with a smile or song,
Lord, show me how.
If I can aid one in distress,
If I can make a burden less,
If I can spread more happiness,
Lord, show me how.

From Matt . . . Bible study can be very intimidating. The Bible is a big book. It has strange language. It refers
to strange events in strange lands among strange people. So, if you want to study just to find out what this or that
passage means, or how it may apply to you, where do you start? Are there any reliable resources that can faithfully
walk you through the different cultures, languages, and ideas of this ancient book? Of course there are! But the body
of literature designed to help you understand the Bible is profuse, and choosing from among the numerous authors
and series can itself be daunting. So, in the coming installments of "The Back Page," I'll be recommending some
books that I have found particularly helpful in clearing away the fog of centuries past to get at the meaning of the
Bible for today.
Understanding the Gospels:
Jesus and the Gospels: An Introduction and Survey – Blomberg
Four Portraits, One Jesus – Strauss
Four Gospels, One Jesus – Burridge
The Method and Message of Jesus' Teaching – Stein
The Tyndale New Testament Commentaries on the Gospels – France, Cole, Morris, Kruse
The Bible Speaks Today – series on the Gospels – Stott, Green, English, Wilcock, Milne
