Call to Worship Psalm 24:3-6 *Gathering Hymn Praise to the Lord #50 Confession of Faith The Nicene Creed We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried. On the third day He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son He is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Please turn off or silence your cell phone. *Those who are able please stand.

Confession of Sin Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for your goodness' sake, O Lord! Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He instructs sinners in the way. For Your name's sake, O Lord, pardon my guilt, for it is great. Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. Relieve the troubles of my heart, and bring me out of my distress. Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins. - adapted from Psalm 25

Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me Jonny Robinson/Rich Thompson/Michael Farren

What gift of grace is Jesus my redeemer? There is no more for heaven now to give

He is my joy my righteousness and freedom My steadfast love my deep and boundless peace

To this I hold my hope is only Jesus For my life is wholly bound to his

Oh, how strange and divine I can sing all is mine Yet not I but through Christ in me

The night is dark, but I am not forsaken For by my side the Savior He will stay I labor on in weakness and rejoicing

For in my need His power is displayed To this I hold my Shepherd will defend me

Through the deepest valley He will lead Oh, the night has been won and I shall overcome

Yet not I but through Christ in me

No fate I dread I know I am forgiven The future sure the price it has been paid

For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon And He was raised to overthrow the grave

To this I hold my sin has been defeated Jesus now and ever is my plea

Oh, the chains are released I can sing I am free Yet not I but through Christ in me

With every breath I long to follow Jesus For he has said that he will bring me home

And day by day I know he will renew me Until I stand with joy before the throne

To this I hold my hope is only Jesus All the glory evermore to him

When the race is complete still my lips shall repeat Yet not I but through Christ in me!

To this I hold my hope is only Jesus

All the glory evermore to him When the race is complete still my lips shall repeat

Yet not I but through Christ in me! When the race is complete still my lips shall repeat

Yet not I but through Christ in me! Yet not I but through Christ in me! Yet not I but through Christ in me!

Be Thou My Vision

Eleanor Henrietta Hull | Mary Elizabeth Byrne

Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart

Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art Thou my best thought, by day or by night

Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light

Be Thou my wisdom, be Thou my true Word I ever with Thee, and Thou with me Lord

Thou my great Father, I Thy true son Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one

Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise Thou mine inheritance, now and always Thou and Thou only, be first in my heart

High King of heaven, my treasure Thou art

High King of heaven, when vict'ry is won May I reach heaven's joys, O bright heaven's Sun

Heart of my own heart, whatever befall Still be my vision, O Ruler of all Still be my vision, O Ruler of all

*Reading of Scripture Luke 9:23-27

23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. 25 For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? 26 For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. 27 But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.”

July 13th at 6:30-9:30 pm - Come & enjoy a night of live music under the stars from many of your favorite Liberty musicians and vocalists. Acoustical music will include Christian, country, oldies, classical & so much more. Bring the whole family & all your friends for fun, fellowship and snacks. PLANS FOR LIBERTY’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY Plans are underway for Liberty’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. We have lots of upcoming events and activities, however we need your help. If you have any pictures of past Liberty events or of building the church and school, we would appreciate your pictures. A lot of changes have happened over the past 50 years and we are planning for a way to highlight them. Pictures can be dropped off in the office (put your name on the back and Lisa will scan your picture and give it back) or send a digital copy of your picture to [email protected]. Both old and new pictures are welcome as we will be showcasing all of our church’s history. Does anyone have any old pictures of any of the church officers in bell bottoms or a leisure suit? What about a picture of Bill’s rock or the gingerbread house? We are hoping to have everything in to the office by July 15th. We look forward to sorting through all the pictures you send so the sooner you can get them in the better!

CHILDREN AND YOUTH MINISTRY MEETING We are having a meeting to discuss the vision and future plans of our children and youth ministries, held immediately after the worship service TODAY, in the Fellowship Hall. The meeting will be led by Pastor Nathan and pizza will be provided.

FROM THE LIBRARY COMMITTEE The back two legs of the chair in the Church Library have come off and will not stay on anymore. We would be very grateful.

OPEN HEARTS

An Opportunity to serve at The Children’s Home: The Open Hearts ministry is seeking volunteers who would be willing to spend a few hours with teens at The Children’s Home, to share about your career, hobby or passion. Last year, some members of the congregation instructed how to sew, bake bread, play an instrument, and taught American Sign Language. The Children’s Home is having a Career Fair to show teens the various options and skills they can build as they get older. It is really a beautiful way to show them hope, that they do not have to stay in their current situation. The fair will be in August sometime during the week. If you cannot make it during the daytime hours, they may be flexible for you to come speak or share in the evenings. Please see Erin Tracht for more details, or email [email protected].

Pray for the Persecuted Church around the World According to a recent article based on research from Open Doors’ 2019 World Watch List: in 2018, in the top 50 countries on the list, 11 Christians are killed every day. In 2018, through the ministry of Open Doors, they were able to come alongside 375,000 people with socio-economic development. Believers received support like microloans, literacy and job training, school support, emergency relief aid like food and medicine, safe houses, and community development. More than 570,000 people received discipleship training, mentoring and counseling. And more than 2 million Bibles and pieces of Christian literature were distributed. God’s story is about Christians returning to their homes in Iraq and Syria after being chased out by ISIS. His story is about women in Nigeria who have suffered unspeakable crimes against them but are finding healing and restoration through Christian trauma counseling.

Please pray for Christians all around the World who are persecuted for their faith.
