FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER-MOTHER’S DAY
Beatitudes for Mothers
Blessed are Mothers…who did without for us, they will be rewarded.
Blessed are Mothers…who lost sleep when we were sick, they will find rest. Blessed are Mothers…who comforted us, they will be comforted.
Blessed are Mothers…who taught us right from wrong, they will know justice. Blessed are Mothers…who showed us the Christian life by example,
they will live forever. Blessed are Mothers…who shared with us the meaning of peace,
they shall know peace. Blessed are Mothers…who taught us the importance of loving God and
each other, they shall see God.
A Happy and blessed Mothers’ Day.
May our Blessed Mother Mary always be with you and your loved ones.
God bless, Fr. Herb

OUR EASTER COLLECTION GIFT
TO OUR RISEN LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST Easter is the most important and joyful day of the year. Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, is the sign of eternal life in the Kingdom for all of us. On Easter Sunday, with the whole
community, we renewed our baptismal commitment to Jesus, rejecting sin and embracing anew our belief in Jesus, His way of life, the forgiveness of sins, the Resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Hopefully our sacrificial Easter collection gift to our parish gratefully reflects our complete commitment to our Risen Savior. He does everything for us, and we give Him back our very best offering in this joyful Easter collection. Our parish relies heavily
on our Easter collection and our Christmas collection to responsibly balance our budget every year. Thank you so much for your extra help at Easter! If you were away for Easter, please put your Easter offering in the collection basket in the next few weeks. Thank you.

CATHOLIC WAR VETERANS OF AMERICA
MEMORIAL DAY POPPIES FUNDRAISER Members of the Army Chaplain Fr. Charles Watters Parsippany Post 1967 will be offering Memorial Day Poppies after all the
Masses next weekend on May 20/21. Honoring America’s war dead by wearing poppies is traditionally done every Memorial Day. CONGRATULATIONS DR. DENIS MULROONY
PARSIPPANY HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL We congratulate Dr. Denis Mulroony, the Principal of our neighboring Parsippany High School and a former parishioner of Saint Peter the Apostle, who was recently honored by the Morris County Council of Education Association as this year’s recipient of the Friends of Education Award. The group is a local chapter of the New Jersey Education Association. Dr. Mulroony was cited as creating “a supportive school community in which
students, teachers, support staff and administrative alike have united to form an interactive team that has come to be the Parsippany High School Family”. Many of our high school youth attend Parsippany High School and it is good to see their high school principal so well appreciated by the education community. For several years, Dr. Mulroony had help our parish with some of our parish youth ministry programs as an adult leader. We applaud this fine outstanding educator who serves our young
people and their families so well.

MOVING FORWARD
GROWING STRONGER TOGETHER Our “Moving Forward-Growing Stronger Together”
program is complete! We are happy to report that we had a very
successful program because so many of you, our parishioners, supported that. Thank you very much!
The preliminary analysis shows that 270 parishioners responded to the campaign and committed to increase their Offertory Collection contributions. This represents 37% of our
regular donors. We are already seeing an increase in our weekly
Offertory Collection as reported in the bulletin. In fact, you may notice that we are now reporting the total and the average weekly collection amounts for each month. We made the change in order to have a better comparison with the previous year and to more accurately account for electronic giving. We encourage you to please maintain your new level of contribution so that we can continue to do God’s work and carry out the mission of our parish.
Thank you again for your personal financial sacrifices, your increased Offertory Contributions, your prayers and your continued support for Saint Peter the Apostle Parish.
If you participate in our Faith Direct electronic giving program and you are increasing your collection offering, please call 1-866-507-8757 or email Faith Direct at [email protected] using our parish code NJ745 to notify them of your increased collection offering so that they will make the change you have decided. Thank you.
If you haven’t turned in a Commitment Card, and want to participate, please mail the Card to our parish, put it in the collection basket or bring it to the Rectory. If you need a Commitment Card, please call the Rectory – 973-334-2090.
Thank you for all your generosity to our parish, for your participation in all our parish ministries and for your constant prayers. We ask Our Risen Lord to keep our parish “Moving Forward and Growing Stronger Together”.

ALL SAINTS ACADEMY CORNER
Registration for Middle School September 2017 All Saints Academy welcomes all prospective middle school students and their families that seek the
academic, spiritual and social opportunities that exist uniquely in our school community. All Saints Academy is a nationally recognized STEM school of
the Diocese of Paterson. The Academy offers a comprehensive, multi-curricular, rigorous academic program, centered on values-based education. The departmentalized middle school is closely geared to strong high school preparation, offering a full year of high school algebra to students with advanced proficiency, a
dedicated literature studies program, world language, engineering and project-based learning. A strong and loving Catholic identity permeates the environment. A spirit of faith, respect and joy are evident in our school. In addition to religious instruction, students model Christian ideals through cooperative activities, spiritual and liturgical celebrations, participation in Sacraments, and service outreach. We also sponsor an active chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (JNHS) for middle school
students. A collaborative parent organization lends partnership and support to the school community. Contact our school principal, Mrs. Judy Berg, at 973-334-4704, to schedule a tour and classroom visit in our middle school.
