Meet Residents: Sue Meierhenry & Loyal Hughes Both of us had been widowed for some years when we met at another local retirement community. We had a nodding acquaintance until one day during Happy Hour we discovered we had been born in the same town by the same doctor at the same hospital. The town being Pasadena, CA. we lived within blocks of each other and our paths never crossed even though we had a mutual friend that lived on my block. We are still finding mutual connections to our past! As time went on, we became more than friends. We had both been looking for another place to live when Char called Loyal and said she might have something for him. We both had known Char and had been at Horton before so we came right over, she was so sur-prised to see us together. We knew the minute we walked in the door “We were home.” We love it here and hope to have many more years to come!

Meet our General Manager: Danielle Stovall I grew up in Brookings and moved to Medford when I was 16. I started with the company in 2004 when I was 18. I started out as part-time waitstaff and was then promoted to the Dining Room Manager position for 5 years. I transferred to another sister community where I was the Assistant Manager. When the General Man-ager position came open here at Horton Plaza in 2012, I knew I needed to be back here at my home! Horton Plaza has always had my heart because of the family feel, the residents, the comradery and the dedicated staff who have become some of my closest friends. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother. I am the middle child. I have 3 1/2 year old twins, Jack & Olivia who literally run the house. I may be a little biased, but they are the sweetest, cutest and smartest kids ever! We have a yellow lab named Pete and a Bengal cat named Indie (who really do fight like cats & dogs). Chase (Fiancé’) and I love to play softball on the weekends, and you may have seen me walking around limping from time to time from this “recreational sport”. My favorite local restaurant is Cicily’s in Medford. Hopefully we can all plan a trip soon!!!
