CREATED BY GODCentral will once again offer Created by God, a study of human sexuality with a Christianfoundation. This is open to students 5th grade and up. It will offer students an opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate the fact that we have each been wonderfully created by God, and are calledto responsible living as sexual beings.

Created By God will be held Sunday, February 28th, 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Created By God helps to offeranswers students may otherwise seek from friends, or social media, as they begin to growphysically, mentally, emotionally, and socially at a rapid pace, or are agonizing over why they aren'tgrowing as rapidly as they feel they should be. Created by God is a study of human sexuality witha Christian foundation. It will offer students an opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate the fact thatwe have each been wonderfully created by God, and are called to responsible living as sexualbeings.

In addition to having an arena where accurate information and proper terminology can be gainedand practiced, the young persons involved will better understand how their sexuality fits into God'splan for human relationships. Using a highly interactive approach to learning, the curriculum, developed by Dr. Jim Richie, is very straight-forward.

A Parent Meeting will be held on Sunday afternoon, February 21st, at 5:30-6:00 p.m. All parentswho will have a student attending this class need to be present at this meeting. For moreinformation you may contact Sabrina Williams by email [email protected], or 601.479.2178.

JANUARY MONTHLY MISSIONS: FOOD SERVICES IN MERIDIAN Love's Kitchen Meals on Wheels Feed by Faith

MEALS ON WHEELS - WEEK OF JANUARY 17TH Meals on Wheels is an organization that delivers food almost every day of the week to those whoare less fortunate and need assistance. Central has people to volunteer on an everyday basis.BUT, did you know that nearly 40 years ago, this organization started at CENTRAL?! A ladynamed Charlotte Vester, a Navy wife, had the idea of feeding the less fortunate, but today weknow this idea as "Meals on Wheels." Back then the Shields Sunday School Class was highlyinvolved so Central started a mission that has turned into an organization that serves 190 hotmeals daily. At that time, meals were prepared in homes but it grew so much that meals had tobe prepared at the church. Meals on Wheels has a great history and a great legacy among ourchurch! If you would like to ride alongside the people below and be involved with this ministry, please contact Kristina at the church. Our Central Meals on Wheels volunteers are:

Diane Reynolds Mina Beth Tonini Lanelle GloverMary & Doug Ethridge Odis Howze Kay JoinerDianne Johnson Peggy Sheppard Janie SmylieCharles & Dot Peavy Virginia Haguewood Phyllis Campbell

WORSHIP

The general topic of the Epiphany and the seasonthat follows is Jesus' manifestation of Himself asGod. (The word epiphany is Greek formanifestation.) In most churches, Bible readings andsermons during this time of the year deal with Jesus'identity.

In the western Church, Epiphany (this year observedon Sunday, January 3rd) commemorates the starand the arrival of the wise men, and the followingSunday (This year January 10th) is the Baptism ofOur Lord.

Epiphany (the day) began in the eastern Church asthe celebration of the Nativity of Jesus Christ. As thecelebration of Christmas spread eastward, Epiphanychanged to its present meaning. Some OrientalChristians have not yet acquired Christmas. Forthem, Epiphany, which they celebrate on January 6of the Julian calendar, continues to be thecelebration of the Nativity.

The Season after the Epiphany begins on theEpiphany, which is 6 January, and ends on the daybefore Lent. The color for the Season After theEpiphany is green to symbolize growth and life.White is the color for Sundays that commemorateevents in Jesus' life. Therefore, white is the color forthe Baptism of Our Lord, Transfiguration Sunday, and the Epiphany itself.
