Sunlight Zone Twilight Zone Midnight Zone The top layer of the ocean is home to most marine life and is the warmest. This is the layer with the most natural light. Only some light enters the second ocean layer. It is colder than the sunlight zone and pressure increases. The third ocean layer is dark and gets no light. Creatures in this layer have adaptations like small eyes...or no eyes at all!
