Kindergarten

Facts:

1. Orange does not have ½ day kindergarten; Orange = ¾ day.

Peck at Yale:• January 28th Open House – close to 100%

attended• First day: January 29th

• Fire drills: The kids are doing well with stairs, but drills are still taking place (2 minutes:45 seconds)

• Buses are smoother: All buses in by 8:25 a.m. at Yale; day starting a bit later due to transitions.

• MLT Bus – arriving 8:39 – 8:45 a.m.• Dismissal: now staging outside

Peck at Yale:

• Some things are still “new”; ex. Holy Infant and other ‘1st Time Events

• 21st Century is arriving a bit late to MLT in p.m.

• 6th Grade DARE graduation scheduled for Yale• Still working on ‘Colonial Day,’ concerts,

Senior Prom, Talent Show, etc. – patience, please!

• Making modifications to Cafe

Optimum.net Email Issue

Without getting too technical …• Optimum hires an outside company, Sorbs, to filter

its spam.• Optimum was not very concerned -- Matt researched• Naugatuck Public Schools got their public IP address

blacklisted by a Sorbs spam database.• We were on the same network subnet as Naugatuck

through CEN• MATT got Naugatuck off… that, got us off! Took lots

of research and many days of work.

PowerSchool Announcement

1. Monday, February 3rd -- EXAMPLE• ‘No School’ announcement

• Teachers at 5:22 a.m.; Posted at 5:42 a.m.• Parents at 6:00 a.m.; Posted at 8:30 a.m.!!

2. PowerSchool Announcement = ongoing problems• Timing issues• Must send ‘phone’ separate from ‘text’ and

Gearing up for Orange Elementary Band and the 1st Memorial Day Parade

• Committees are active – uniform and fundraising

• Need drums and harnesses, cymbals and handholds

• Need 100 shirts; 100 pants• Will ask parents to provide comfortable black

shoe and black socks• Kids need to memorize the music!• More to come!
