GeneralThe SuperSleve HouseDrain range hasbeen designed with the specific aims ofincreasing both speed and quality on site.
This has been achieved by the introductionof many new features which improvehandling and make the system fullyadjustable and easy to lay.
Inlet GullyThe inlet gully is provided complete withgrid, hopper, base unit, frame, dip tubetrap and flexible outlet.
Excavate a hole to approximately thecorrect location and depth. Firm the baseof the excavation with granular materialand accurately position the gully.
The gully body is designed with a broadflat base to aid stability in the excavation.
If a back inlet is required remove thestopper in the gully body. A raising piece(a standard SuperSleve 150mm pipecut to length) can be inserted to adjustthe height.
Rotate the base until the inlets and outletare pointing in the required directions.Make holes for the inlet pipes into theblanking plate.
Pipe and FittingsPlain ended pipes and couplings areavailable to maximise adaptability on site.A new flexible bend has also beenintroduced to improve the ease of finaladjustment on site and also to allow forsettlement after construction.
Cutting of pipes can be quickly carriedout using the lever operated pipecutting tool.
Lubricate the spigot to be jointed andpush the pipe into the socket until theend of the coupling aligns with thedepth of insertion mark on the pipe.
Fittings are available in the followingconfigurations: Single socket bends tobe used with chambers. Spigotedjunctions for connections by insertion intoexisting lines.
ChambersThe chambers have all been designedwith a broad base to improve stability inthe trench. Connections to the chambersare through sockets allowing the directentry of pipes and spigot fittings.Chambers incorporate a gradient acrossthe base allowing speedy installation totake place and raising pieces are easilycut to the required height or angle.The cover and frame clips neatly to theraising piece or body and is manufacturedfrom a high strength non-corrodible,fibre reinforced polymer to ensuredurability and ease of removal at a future
date. The cover is secured to the frameby four non corrosive screws.
Standards and ApprovalsSuperSleve HouseDrain is manufacturedto BS EN 295 where appropriate andkitemarked accordingly.
The Mini Access Chamber and FlexibleBend are covered by a British Board ofAgrément Certificate.
Quality Assurance All Hepworth drainage products aremanufactured under a qualitymanagement system which is approved to BS EN ISO 9001:2000Quality ManagementSystems -Requirements.

Bedding
SuperSleve HouseDrain pipes aremanufactured by advanced moderntechniques producing a high strengthclay barrel. The crushing strength issufficiently high to enable the pipe to belaid directly onto a 50mm layer ofsuitable as-dug material or importedgranular material. This beddingarrangement will be suitable for alldomestic drainage situations. Wherecover to the crown of the pipe is lessthan 400mm, additional protectionsuch as concrete may be required.
Installed CostDetailed analysis and case studies haveestablished that SuperSleve HouseDrainis the lowest installed cost domesticdrainage system available. This has beenbrought about by savings in beddingmaterial, speed of installation andflexible fittings.
The ever increasing ‘Landfill Tax’ has adirect impact on the total installed costof drainage systems. However, unlikeother material systems, SuperSleveHouseDrain is not dependent upon agranular stone bedding and surroundfor its strength. This means that mostexcavated material can be back-filledinto the drainage trench, dramaticallyreducing the amount of surplus spoilto be removed from site, creatingsavings on expensive stone, time, haulageand tax.
Two examples below demonstrate theinstalled cost savings possible usingSuperSleve HouseDrain on a typical siteof 4 Houses (200m pipe run):

The increasing use of high pressure jetting as aroutine and cost-effective method of removingblockages in sewers has led to concernsamong water companies, local authorities,developers, contractors and water jettingspecialists about the ability of pipelines towithstand such applications. In response tothese concerns Hepworth Building Productshas introduced a unique Lifetime JettingGuarantee* on its sewerage systems for jettingmaintenance up to 7,500 psi.
The GuaranteeAll SuperSleve HouseDrain products areguaranteed for the system lifetime againstpenetration of the pipe wall caused by thefollowing jetting criteria:
• High pressure water jet used at a pressure of up to 7,500 psi (517 bar)
• At a flow rate not exceeding 20 gallons perminute (1.5 litres per second)
• Held immobile for a constant period of not more than 5 minutes
