FOR THE ARTS Is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, volunteer organization of accomplished men and
women who promote awareness of the arts through social and educational
opportunities. To build arts awareness in Arizona, the League raises funds
through special events, most notably the Scottsdale Culinary Festival, for arts
and art education programs with broad and diverse impact on the community.
Founded in 1978, Scottsdale League for the Arts began by primarily distributing
its funds to the Scottsdale Cultural Council in support of education programs of
the Scottsdale Center for the Arts and, more recently, the Scottsdale Museum
for Contemporary Art. Since establishing its grants program in 2002, the League
has contributed over $4 million to arts and art education programs in Arizona. In
2015, the League funded arts grants with more than $150,000 in donations.
