Safety by Distance is a concept not only to be implemented when at work but to be used in everyday life. Applied consistently it will become a way of life, he says.
Hoyle will share this Safety by Distance concept with delegates and explain how it is based on an ideology that people should always be protected first, not assets. Hoyle will outline how delegates should use their eyes and ears to alert them to a dangerous situation and position themselves out of harm’s way.

2pm How International Standards are Moving from a Product Base to an Emphasis on SafetyPresenter: Bridon Singapore (Pte) LimitedTraditionally standards have dealt with the product, defining parameters such as material, dimensions and manufacturing methods. However in more recent times the requirements have changed to be one of defining the performance required of the product to ensure its safe operation. This presentation looks at wire rope termination methods for various rope constructions and discusses the factors used in calculating working load limits for different termination systems. Also discussed will be the roles of the system designer, the product manufacturer and the termination assembly manufacturer.
