Mrs.K.Ramadevi, Assoc.Prof was registered for Ph.D and cleared Pre-Ph.D exam. She also

presented a paper in International Conference and her paper was published in

International Journal.

Mr.V.Prasanth, Assoc.Prof presented a paper in International Conference at E.G.S.Pillay

college of Engineering on topic “ ”.

Mr.K.Raghuram, Assoc.Prof presented a paper in International Conference at E.G.S.Pillay

college of Engineering on topic “Porting of µIP-TCP/IP stack for ARM”.

Ms.K.Nagadurga, Asst.Prof presented a paper in International Conference at E.G.S.Pillay

college of Engineering on topic “ ”.

An Association of Electronics & Communication Engineers (AECE) has been started at the department level. The association was successful in running the activities like Essay writing Competitions and Elocution, Technical events and supporting students to actively in the department level activities. AECE is arranging Guest Lectures by Resource person from prestigious Organization to make them aware with outside world. The following are the activities of AECE for year 2010-11

Essay writing competition and Elocution competition was conducted on 4th August 2010 in

view of Independence Day celebrations on topic “Is INDIA Successful in Democracy &

Secularism?” for essay writing and “Sustainable & Inclusive Innovations” for

elocution.

Project exhibition contest and Quiz competition was conducted on 15th September 2010 in

view of Engineers day celebrations on topic “General & Science topics” for Quiz Competition

Elocution competition was conducted on 5th March 2011 in view of Women’s day celebrations on topic “Role of women in 21

st Century”.

In view of “World Tele-Communication day, on 17-05-2011”elocution competition was conducted

on 13th May 2011 and topic is “Better Life in Rural Communities with ICT’s”

“Fresher’s Party” by seniors to juniors was held on th December 2010.

“Farewell Party” to the final year students was given by juniors on 30th May, 2011.

The 135 students were divided into 34 batches and have done various projects in

the fields of Embedded Systems, VLSI, DSP and Advanced Communication. The best project has

been rewarded 2000/-.Industry oriented mini Projects which has been introduced to provide

industrial interaction to students was handled successfully. Students had done various study

projects in reputed companies like BSNL, Reliance, APTRANSCO, ANDHRA ELECTRONICS, and

DOORDARSHAN etc.Research & Development in “IMAGE PROCESSING” was introduced in last year

and many of the academic projects were done under this R&D department .In this academic year

Research & Development wing on “ANTENNAS” was started and nearly 4 batches did their

academic project in this wing.

Association of ECE organized “e-jive2k11-A National Level Technical Symposium” from 8th -10th

January 2011.The event includes Paper Presentation, Project Presentation, Guest lecture on NANO

Technology , Guest lecture on VLSI,MATLAB workshop, Ad-making ,Group discussions and many spot

events like Transmitter hunt ,Kshipta ,Master minds, Who’s is most wanted were included in the program.

The new concept “CONTRAPTIONS” was introduced in this e-jive event and was made grand success with

the fabulous ideas of students from various colleges and from various departments.

CARTA PRESENTA-The Paper Presentation Contest

Invitation was sent to 120 colleges all over the country, inviting participants to present

their papers in this tech fest. There was a tremendous response from the participants of all colleges on the

call for papers. 366 were received through email until 29-12-2010.From this list after scrutiny, 50 papers

were selected and the selected participants are invited to present their papers at the venue (Pragati

Engineering College) on 10-01-2011. This event was conducted in two seminar halls, with 25 papers in each

hall. Participants were given 8 minutes (6min+2min) of time to present their papers. All the papers

presented were very interesting, participants mainly focused on the current trends in electronics and

communication engineering.

AAVISHKAR (Project Presentations)

‘AAVISHKAR’ is one of the highlight events in the STRIDES, the projects are very innovative and

audience gained some technical knowledge by seen projects. Some of the interesting projects are line trace

robot, laser based voiced Transmitter and Receiver, Home appliances using remote controller, light chaser

robot, transformers etc.The following faculty members acted as Judges:

Another most excited event was “CONTRAPTIONS” which is an innovative idea of 08-ECE batch to

convert one form of energy to another form. There was a huge response from other colleges and large

number of student’s gathered. Many concepts were explained but only some concepts were accepted due
