BENEFITSCanrig’s CRT utilizes SureGrip® technology, a unique ball-in-pocket gripping mechanism to engage casing. The harder you pull, the tighter it grips. Accomplished through the use of innovative technology to more evenly distribute load to hundreds of stainless steel balls, the CRT minimizes damage to casing and overcomes technical and load limits of traditional die slips. Sharp indents from die teeth are eliminated as well, reducing potential casing failure methods later in wellbore life.
Dynamic compensation eliminates driller interaction, and reduces the potential for cross threading. Using the SureGrip® tool, our crews have better connections in very tight tolerances and are able to meet optimal torque without human error.

Canrig’s casing running tool does the work of a casing crew with the touch of a finger from a certified Canrig technician. It automates the process of picking up single joints of casing and stabbing them into the string, reducing manual handling requirements which are the number one cause of rig safety incidents.
SureGrip® is the tool technicians use to ensure smooth makeup while providing precise control for final torque. It utilizes the top drive to apply torque and simultaneously rotate, reciprocate and circulate. This is crucial for overcoming troublesome hole conditions and yielding better cement jobs, preventing the need for costly remedial actions. The tool allows rig personnel to focus on landing casing downhole instead of the handling process of getting casing ready to trip in.
