It uses Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.13 GHz, 2 GB DDR2 RAM, 250 GB SATA Hard Drive.

The Microsoft Surface

is a 360 degree user interface, 30-inch reflective surface with a projector underneath the surface. It has been optimized to respond to 52 touches at a time.

How does it work basically ??? The system is composed of a horizontal

touchscreen under a table-like surface with cameras mounted below to detect user interaction activities. With no interface text, the surface can be used by speakers of any language and any competency level.Pictures in a digital camera placed on the surface are automatically downloaded to the device and displayed on the screen. We can even transfer those pictures to another device, say a cellphone .It simply requires the user to place the phone on surface and drag the pictures in its direction….

Functioning… Five video cameras

operating in the infrared spectrum detect the objects and hand gestures at the screen’s interface. The 3-D screen runs at a nominal 1024 by 768 resolution , easily graphed by the camera array…

Why is it more useful than Bluetooth , Wifi etc ??

Although the underlying bluetooth and Wifi technologies are considered safe for transfer of data itself, the ease with which the documents can be accidentally or maliciously copied is highly alarming…..

Applications of it in our day to day life

It is slowly starting to catch on in our daily life,….it was even used by MSNBC during 2008 U.S. Presidential Elections…In the grand Starwood and Sheraton Hotels , they allow users to drop a credit card on the table to pay for their meals, music and other amenities at their ultimate luxurious and heavenly resort.
