Surfside Beach Fire Department November Town Council Report January 26, 2016 Submitted by Kevin L. Otte, Fire Chief 1. Our annual live burns were conducted this month. We held one 8 hour live burn on Saturday November 14 th , one 4 hour night burn on Saturday November 21 st and one 4 hour make-up burn on Monday November 23 rd . All members who are interior firefighters must attend and take part in these training exercises each year. 2. All of our members have passed their Emergency Medical Responder practical tests. 3. I attended the State Fire Chief’s meeting at the State Fire Academy. 4. The Fire Department held our annual physicals this month. 5. All of the Fire Department ladders and the Tower were tested this month and passed the annual testing.

Junior Firefighter Training:
No junior training during the month due to training burns and holidays. Junior training will resume on 12‐6‐2015
The juniors also spent 85 hours in the station during the month participating in daily station training, cleaning and
station coverage.
