SURGERY NEWSLETTER August 2020
CORONAVIRUS: SHIELDING ENDS.
Starting on the 1st of August, government guidance for the clinically extremely vulnerable has changed, many are now allowed to return to work, go outside and visit businesses all whilst maintaining social distancing where possible.
This new advice means that the clinically extremely vulnerable will no longer receive care from the National Shielding Service, however they will be able to get:
• local volunteer support by contacting your local authority
• prescriptions, essential items and food you buy delivered by NHS Volunteer Responders
• priority slots for supermarket deliveries
