The magic eraser tool is used when you would want to remove solid colour from the background of and image.This can be used in concept art for the creation of windows ect to remove the background of the window to enable it to be seen through.

The Mixer Brush Tool is a tool that imitates a water colour or paint blending on a portrait, this can be used by concept artists to create the effect that the art has been painted by hand or used in an artstyle to create effective images.

The note tool is used to create notes on a image that can be later changed and re written. This can be used in the concept art industry if there is a key point a concept artist is attempting to get across to modelers or texturers but it does not come across in the image.

The brush tool is the most basic tool in photoshop and is used to create markings on layers that when combined with a graphic tablet enables the user to draw directly onto the photoshop sceneThe obvious use of this for a concept artist is to create concept art within the digital environment.

The Burn tool will darken the areas that it is used on. This will help the artists to create darker shadows and a more gradual shift from dark tones to light tones, paired with the gradient tool this can be used to create more realistic shadows.

The ruler tool is used to measure angles and distances, this is also helpful to a concept artist in aiding him in maintaining a correct scaleto his initial designs

RulerThe colour replacement tool in photoshop enables the user to interchange a colour for another essentially swapping it entirely. This is very useful in concept art when designing a piece of armour or a weapon that has different colour as the artist does not have to manually change the color to ge get multiple different renders.

Colour Replacement 3D Material drop is used when 3d modelling and takes the material from one place on a 3d object and enables you to place it on another part of the model, this will be used in conjunction with a graphics tablet to enable the 3d concept artist to create 3d designs

3D Material Drop Gradient ToolThe gradient tool is used to create gradual blends between colours, this is used in concept art possibly as part of a watercolor art style or to create more realistic shadows

Blur Tool

The blur tool Creates a blurred effect around selected areas, this can be used when designing to create the effect of depth or distance

Sharpen Tool

Opposite of the Blur tool the sharpen tool makes the selected areas of the stage more refined. This can be used to create the effect of something being up close.

Multiple Tabs

Concept artists can us the feature of multiple tabs to switch between reference images for their projects they are working on quickly an with an easy ui.

On The Same PageAlmost identical to the latter this for of organisation allows artists in the industry to merely have to look to the side to see the images they wish.

Hot Keys/Shortcuts

During simple texture creation the photoshop concept artist will need to use an array of techniques to create tileable images to do this with speed and precision they can employ the use of hotkeys such as when using the clone stamp tool and holding alt and the right click to bring up this quick interface

The colour pallette

This allows artists to create easy colour contrasts and gradients without the need for guessing ratios of messy and permanent paints.

The Eraser tool

Mistakes are made with all pieces of art and whether the artist can fix or paint/draw over the mistake is what makes or breaks the pieces final composure. With digital drawing and use of software such as photoshop they are able to instantly erase the mistake whether it be a haphazard line on the piece or a colour that needs to be changed.

The use of layersThe use of layers can be used in the games industry to test out new ideas on an image without having to draw directly onto it, similarly this can be used to aid animation with minute changes to the piece being visible. To achieve these two methods in a classical art environment the artist would need to use countless amounts of tracing paper and if animating hours of time replicating the images wheres if in photoshop the can just duplicate a layer.

In this example i am using the colour palette to choose a precise tone of yellow for my pyramid cartoon pyramid, this is done by choosing a middle ground between the colours of white and yellow musty colour.

In this example i am using the colour select tool it enable me to choose a colour within the selected area with the dropper tool and highlight all of that chosen within the layer. This is an effective tool to use in my situation as here i when selecting the suns i would otherwise need to select using the marquee tool or a circular selection tool.

In this example i am using the sharpen toolWhich normally is used to sharpen and refine areas of an image which occur that are blurred, but here i am using it to create a highlight like effect around the edges of the individual bricks.

P7 Task-PO2: Understand industry tools and techniques for creating concept art

This concept art is for a character in Ghost recon wildlands, it is a front on and zoomed in perspective so that the artist may portray the detail in the character. The dull tones of brown and subtle highlights of red as blood running across the forearms allows us to picture him in a war/militaristic environment. The realistic graphics of the entire character allows us to compare it to a easily recognisable scale and size.

Portrays two soldiers stood atop a tall mountain in what i can suspect to be a warzone possibly special forces with the lack of other soldiers or fortifications, lite tones of yellow and blue on the soldiers uniforms mirrored in the environment with the low angle allowing us to see the large scale expanse of the mountain peaks compared to the two soldiers in the foreground.

Unit 10 PO1The speed of the character reduces because he takes toxin damage limiting his ability to walk and run.Secondly the character will have a primary bar designed for the oxygen levels of his gas mask which will reduce to zero unless a relic is picked up, this then causes the health bar to reduce.

This line of code is the one which links the value of the health bar (divided by 10) to the walk speed of the first person controller Provided by the public static link.

This piece of code makes it so that the oxygen bar begins to decrease when the character first spawns in.

This code makes it so that when the oxygen bar is at 0 the health bar will begin to decrease

Unit 10 M2

This piece of code dictates that when the character collides with the relic to pick it they will have their oxygen level reset to 100(full), ie it sets the curoxy value to 100.

This piece of code is connected to the text in the inventory menu so that when the relic is picked up it increases the value in the inventory by one. The gas mask is the increasing the oxygen value when picked up.
