My Dear Sisters, I hope all of you had a blessed Advent and Christmas season. By the time you read this we will already celebrated Ash Wednesday and be on our journey to the Easter Season. I pray that we all experience the love of our Savior Jesus Christ throughout this time of reflection and prayer. As a member of the NCCW Board of Directors I again had the privilege of attending the Board Meeting in Washington, DC, January 23rd & 24th. We had two full days of discussion and sharing. Twenty-three Province Directors were present, one was via online video conference; three national Commission chairs, the five Executive Committee members and our Spiritual Advisor, Rev. Richard Dawson. I hope all of you who are receiving the monthly Connect newsletter from the national office do open and read it. It is important that all of us open and read the Connect each month. This is NCCW’s current communication to all members each month. If you receive and open the Connect, please don’t feel you are not receiving information from national, they are communicating with you each month. If you are not receiving it, please contact me and I will follow up to determine why. We had a short session on using current technology: emails and social media. If you are a Facebook user, be sure to “like” the National Council of Catholic Women. The NCCW website is improved including more search features. When you become an Individual Member of NCCW, you can log in on the website and have access to your personal information. If you missed an issue of the Connect newsletter or the Catholic Woman, you can download them after logging in. Learn all about the work of the Commissions, upcoming events, and much more on the website. Now is the time to start planning ahead to attend the NCCW annual convention being held at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX, September 6-9, 2017. Early Bird registration has been reduced to $300.00 and will be open starting in March!! Hotel reservations can be made now using the link on the NCCW website, www.nccw.org. An added convenience is that we can now reserve for the Province Dinner right on the convention registration form. You will be seeing updates on the convention in the Connect and Catholic Woman. At the meeting, Province Directors were given listing of all affiliate and individual members showing the expiration date of their dues. I have some contacts to make and plan to do that very soon. Notices were emailed to affiliate presidents on record at the NCCW office. Please remember to update your change in presidents with the office in order that mailings are delivered where they should be. Nationally there are 2371 current Individual NCCW members. My listing shows 66 Superior Diocese members; 24 of these are not current. If your membership has expired, you will be receiving a letter from me. If you are not currently an individual member of NCCW, I encourage you to join. You can either join online or find membership forms you can print on the NCCW website under membership or contact me. My goal for the Province is a 25% increase in membership. That goes from September to September so we are already four months into trying to reach that goal. I thank you in advance for joining. Membership gives us a share in partnerships Catholic Relief Services, Cross Catholic Outreach, Catholic Charities, National Center for Sexual Exploitation and Catholic Climate Covenant. It gives us a strong voice for Catholic Women by uniting Catholic women’s groups and Individual Catholic women in the United States; provides a forum for Catholic women to speak and act on matters of mutual interest. NCCW will be participating in the Convocation of Catholic Leaders July 1-4, 2017 in Orlando, Florida. The Convocation is under the leadership of the bishops of the United States

Have a GREAT day and know that all you do, m a t t e r s! May God give you special blessings as we continue on our faith journey together. Lucille Brandner Director, Province of Milwaukee
