Introduction
The main purpose of this study is to analyse demand and supply side perspectives of the heroes
square and nearby attractions. We decided to use secondary information from the websites and
create general overview about the tourist who are visiting in our project area. Mostly they are
packaged tourists and it is presented in our research as well. So we conducted research to better
understand the tourists and their characteristics. We also collected information about historical
and cultural monuments which are important to consider when creating tours. On the other
hand they are like supplementary attractions for heroes square itself and have very big influence
over the tourist experiences. In each case of tourist attractions we gathered information about
location, history, cultural value, things to do and so on. We need this information to put forward
some problems (if any) and use those information for future planning. Our team have collected
information about accommodation and F&B sector because they are very important suppliers
in tourism industry. It is also important to analyse tour packages which are sold by agencies
and approximate prices. At the end of this project we suggest you the result of the research and
give you basic information of the current problems. Finally we will have all necessary
information to develop future sustainable development plan.
Location
Heroes’ square is one of the most visited sights Budapest, Hungary, located in front of the City
Park, at the end of the Andrássy Avenue, one of the most important streets of Budapest, a World
Heritage site.
Description
Laid out in 1896 to mark the thousandth anniversary of Hungary, Heroes' Square (Hősök tere)
is the largest and most impressive square of the city. Located at the end of Andrássy Avenue
and next to City Park, Heroes’ Square is one of the most visited sights in Budapest. Surrounded
by two important buildings, Museum of Fine Arts on the left and Kunsthalle (Hall of Art) on
the right, Heroes’ Square is also a station of the Millennium Underground.
The Millennium Monument in the middle of the square was erected to commemorate the 1000-
year-old history of the Magyars. Archangel Gabriel stands on top of the centre pillar, holding
the holy crown and the double cross of Christianity. The seven chieftains who led the Magyar
tribes to Hungary can be seen on the stand below. Statues of kings and other important
historical figures stand on top of the colonnades on either side of the centre pillar.
When the monument was originally constructed, Hungary was part of the Austro-Hungarian
Empire and thus the last five spaces for statues on the left of the colonnade were reserved for
members of the ruling Habsburg dynasty. The Habsburg emperors were replaced with
Hungarian freedom fighters when the monument was rebuilt after World War II.
In 1989 a crowd of 250,000 gathered at the square for the reburial of Imre Nagy, former Prime
Minister of Hungary, who was executed in 1958.
Getting to Heroes' Square: Take the Millennium Underground (M1) to Hősök tere
Recommendation: If you have the time, it's worthwhile to visit Heroes' Square at least twice:
both during the day and at night. Combine it with a stroll along Andrassy Avenue or a visit to
City Park.
Andrássy Avenue
Andrássy Avenue, recognized as a World Heritage Site, was built to connect the city center
with City Park (Városliget). Construction began in 1872, and the avenue was inaugurated in
1885. Its Eclectic Neo-Renaissance palaces and houses were built by the most distinguished
architects of the time. Aristocrats, bankers, landowners and noble families moved in. The iconic
avenue was named after Prime Minister Gyula Andrássy, a key advocate of the project.
At the time of its completion in 1885, Andrássy Avenue was considered a masterpiece of city
planning and even public transport was prohibited to preserve its character. This brought about
the idea to build a railroad beneath it. The Millennium Underground Railway, the first subway
line in continental Europe, opened in 1896. The line transported people from the city center to
Városliget, the main venue of the Millennium celebrations.
In recent years, Andrássy Avenue has become increasingly chic, attracting some of the world's
leading designers. Not to mention, the many restaurants and cafés located along the avenue.
Andrássy Avenue is great for walks alongside the beautiful turn-of-the-century buildings or
people watching in one of the many cafés. It's a long avenue, however the Millennium
Underground Railway runs beneath it, should you feel tired. The State Opera House is one of
the most famous tenants on Andrássy, but the avenue is also home to many upscale boutiques,
including Louis Vuitton, Ermenegildo Zegna, Burberry and Gucci, and to several other
attractions.
The intersection of Andrássy Avenue and the Grand Boulevard (Nagykörút) is shaped like an
octagon, hence its name: Oktogon. Like with many other places in Budapest, the Oktogon had
different names in the past. From 1936–1945, it was known as Mussolini Square, and during
the Communist era, for 40-some years, it was known as November 7 Square. Today Oktogon
is a busy square, giving home to the world's largest Burger King. The Millennium Underground
(M1) also stops at the Oktogon.
The best way to discover Andrássy Avenue is to take our Millennium Walking Tour.

City Park
City Park is the largest park in Budapest. The first trees and walkways were established here
in 1751. In the first decades of the 19th century a park was created, which became the first
public park in the world. In 1896 the Millennium Celebrations took place here, leaving many
attractions behind.
Vajdahunyad Castle, a replica of a Transylvanian castle of that name, was built to show the
various architectural styles found in Hungary, and has Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and
Baroque parts. In the courtyard is the statue of Anonymus, the nameless medieval chronicler
to King Béla. His work is the main source of information on Hungarian history through the
Middle Ages, however the fact that there were four kings called Béla during the twelfth and
thirteenth centuries makes it hard to identify him or the monarch. His face is hidden by a hood,
making him anonymous, and yet portraying an interesting and important historical figure.
The castle is surrounded by an artificial lake that's used for boating in the summer and turns
into an impressive ice skating rink in the winter, which is a local favourite. The history of the
City Park Ice Rink (Városligeti Műjégpálya) goes back to the 19th century, when skating was
considered a favourite winter pass time by the elite. It first opened on January 29th 1870 and
Rudolf, Crown Prince of Austria, was present for the inauguration ceremonies.
The Budapest Zoo, the Amusement Park, the Municipal Circus, the Museum of Transport, the
legendary Gundel Restaurant and the famous Széchenyi Baths are also located within City
Park. In addition, there are playgrounds, slides, wooden castles and monkey bars in the park to
keep the small ones entertained. For treasuer hunters, there's a flea market held every weekend
by Petőfi Csarnok (open Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 2 pm).

Andrássy Avenue
The Millennium Underground
At the time of its completion in 1885, Andrássy Avenue was considered a masterpiece of city
planning and even public transport was prohibited to preserve its character. This brought about
the idea to build a railroad beneath it. The first subway line in continental Europe opened in
1896 and is still in use as the M1 or the yellow line.
Like many other buildings in Budapest, the Millennium Underground Railway was
commissioned to celebrate the Millennium in 1896. Trains ran along Andrássy Avenue, from
Gizella Square (today Vörösmarty Square) to the Zoo in City Park, in a northeast-southwest
direction. There were eleven stations, nine were underground and two were above the ground.
The length of the line was 3.7 km (2.3 miles) at that time; trains started in every two minutes.
It was able to carry as many as 35,000 people a day (today, about 100,000 people travel on it
on a workday). The history of the subway line can be seen at the Underground Museum.
Totally, there are 11 stops.
The Kunsthalle
The Kunsthalle (Hall of Art in English, Műcsarnok in Hungarian) is an exhibition hall for the
contemporary arts, featuring the works of local and international artists. Following the concept
of the German Kunsthalles, the Neo-Renaissance building was erected in 1896, for the
Millennium Celebrations.
One of Kunsthalle's missions is to portray the latest trends in visual arts by exposing young
talents, beside well-established artists. The Ernst Museum and Dorottya Gallery, both
acquisitions of Kunsthalle, focus on the new occurrences in visual arts.

Getting to the Budapest Zoo: Take the Millennium Underground (M1) to Széchenyi Fürdő
Insider Tip:
In the summer (July 8 - August 22, 2015), the Budapest Zoo hosts a series of live, open-air
evening concerts. It's a unique experience; concerts are held on Wednesdays and usually start
at 8:30 pm and the Aquarium and the Palm House both have extended opening hours. The
complete schedule is listed on the zoo's website.
Széchenyi Baths
Although it may look like a Baroque palace, Széchenyi Baths (Széchenyi fürdő) is the largest
medicinal bath and one of the largest public baths in Europe. It is a great place to relax and
enjoy the healing waters, or to take a few laps in the swimming pool. The Széchenyi is a favorite
for both locals and tourists alike.
The first thermal bath in Pest opened here as a temporary establishment in 1881. As it became
more and more popular, construction began to expand the bath. The medicinal baths were built
in 1913, and the northern wing, with a beautiful Neo-Baroque interior, was completed in 1927.
Today, there are 18 pools, of which 15 are spring fed. In one of the large outdoor pools, you
can witness the surreal spectacle of men playing chess while immersed up to their chests in
steaming water.
'Szecska' - Late Night Summer Fun at Széchenyi
Throughout the summer Széchenyi Baths offers a popular Saturday night party series called
Szecska. Pool parties with plenty of great music run every Saturday from 10:30 pm to 3:00 am
from June through August.
Visiting Széchenyi Baths
As Széchenyi is one of the largest public baths in Europe, there's more than one entrance. The
grandiose main entrance beneath the baroque dome (facing City Park), leads to the indoor
thermal baths, the side entrance leads to the steam baths and the rear entrance (opposite the
circus) leads to the outdoor pools. Although everything is interconnected and visitors will have
access to all areas once inside, I would recommend using the rear entrance, from Állatkerti
körút, as this is where the private changing cabins are located.
Széchenyi Baths
The outdoor pools
Ticket options may seem somewhat overwhelming at first as there are so many, including
monthly and yearly passes, swimming-pool only tickets, different treatments and so on, but
actually it's not as complicated as it seems, and the only thing you have to decide is whether
you would like to opt for a private changing cabin (ideal for couples, as two people can share
one cabin) or for a locker, which costs a little less. Upon paying the entrance fee you'll receive
a plastic armband (it's called a 'proxy armband') that grants you access to your cabin or locker
and all of the indoor and outdoor pools, saunas and steam baths. The armband opens and closes
your cabin and/or locker by simply touching the lock with it.
Once you have donned your bathing suit (the Széchenyi is coed and swimsuits are mandatory)
check out the outdoor pools first. The large, rectangular pool in the middle is the swimming
pool (swim caps are required) with a water temperature of 27°C/84°F. At one end of the
swimming pool is a warm pool with a lazy river and a large Jacuzzi in the center. The water
temperature here is 30°C/90°F (34°C/98°F in winter). At the other end of the swimming pool
is another warm pool with steaming 38°C/106°F waters. This is, where no matter what time of
year you visit, you will always find men playing chess in the steaming water.
Széchenyi Baths
One of the indoor pools
After 20 minutes or so head inside and check out the 15 indoor pools, several steam baths and
saunas. These are located in the Baroque wing, beneath the domes. A light smell of sulfur
chloride permeates the rooms. The indoor pools vary in size and range in temperature from
40°C/110°F down to 20°C/70°F, should you be brave enough jump into the cold water at least
once. There are numerous steam baths and saunas located next to the pools. One of the most
favourite attraction is the aroma sauna. Each pool, sauna and steam bath has a sign showing
the temperature (some are as high as 70°C/170°F) and there are showers everywhere to cool
down and refresh.
Recommendation would be to take two towels with you (towels are not provided, so bring
your own or buy them in the lobby), leave one in the cabin or locker to use at the end and take
the other one with you as it will come in handy when you go from pool to pool. If you visit in
the summer, be sure to take some sunscreen with you. Bring flip-flops, towels and a bottle of
water and make sure you drink plenty of fluids. Visitors can also purchase basic swimsuits and
bath towels in the lobby. There's a cafeteria overlooking the outdoor pools that serves some
light snacks and sandwiches. Its charming terrace is a favourite throughout the summer,
especially on the weekends, when breakfast is served.
The hot spring feeding the thermal pools is rich in calcium, magnesium, hydro-carbonate,
sodium and sulphate, with significant content in fluoride and metabolic acid. The waters are
recommended to help cure degenerative illnesses of joints, chronic and semi-acute arthritis,
and orthopaedic and post-injury treatments. There are also trained instructors who offer a series
of balneal and physical therapies, like underwater gymnastics and weight baths. Other services
include mud packing, infra-sauna and Finnish saunas. Széchenyi also offers massages, mud
packs, access to a gym and a range of private baths and treatments.
Admission fees in 2014:
A day pass with a locker is HUF 4,100 during the week and HUF 4,300 on the weekends.
A day pass with a cabin is HUF 4,600 during the week and HUF 4,800 on the weekends.
Opening hours:
Swimming pools - Monday-Sunday: 6 am to 10 pm
Thermal pools - Monday-Sunday: 6 am to 7 pm

International practice review for sustainable development (Singapore city)
Singapore city is one of the good example of sustainable planning. They have a lot off funds
and resources allocated for sustainable development. We should mentioned that money is not
only tool for sustainable development. Most important thing is to have such kind of strategy
which addressed to solve sustainability problems.
Singapore has long term sustainable development strategy (for 2030) and some action plans
which they seek to realize and has already done.
The main strategies for Singapore (city) are as follows:
Key Strategy 1: Change of Mindset of all stakeholders
Key Strategy 2: Sustainable Tourism Indicator development, adaptation and adoption
Key Strategy 3: Accustomization of the New Mindset on Green Jobs and Sustainable Tourism
Key Strategy 4: Introduction of Strategic Management, Control Mechanisms, and
Enforcement
Following the strategic framework, ten implementation strategies are proposed to follow up on
the new policy dimensions:
1. Mainstream and Promote Green Jobs through Sustainable Tourism
2. Prioritize Poverty Reduction in Tourism
3. Enhance Opportunities for Youth Employment in the Tourism Sector and Youth
Tourism
4. Support the Ministry for Women and Child Protection in Combating Gender and Child
Protection Issues
5. Implement a System of Voluntary Codes/Standards for Sustainable Tourism
6. Set Tourism Related Education, Training and Research as priority in the National
Education and Research Agenda
7. Identify Potential and Committed Local Partners
8. Conduct Selective and Creative Marketing
9. Apply a Sustainable Approach in Tourism Planning
10. Establish a Single Coordinative Body for Sustainable Tourism Development.
As we see this development plan includes all aspects related to sustainable development.
Moreover, we can say that because of this strategy city Singapore is the best sustainably
developed city in the world.
However it is not likely to realise this strategy in case of hero square because of the one
main reason. There is no such kind of plan for this place and it needs authorisation from the
tourism authorities in Hungary. We just recommend them to use this, like the best practice and
tray to solve the problems which we put forward.
Actually this is not all what authorities have done for the city Singapore. They created some
action plans which was included some problems itself. Those are as follows:
Compact city: Given our limited land, planning for a compact city is critical. This strategy
enables us to make the best use of our land, allow for more efficient provision of facilities, and
maximise the use of our transport infrastructure
Housing for all: A sustainable city is also one that offers a good quality of life for all. A key
aspect of this is in ensuring that housing is available and affordable. Land is set aside for a
variety of housing types to meet different needs and aspirations. This ranges from affordable
and quality high-rise public housing, where over 80 per cent of the population lives, to private
housing that includes landed properties and high-rises:
Quality living: It is not just about providing good housing but it is also about creating a total
good quality living environment around where we live. The planning of residential towns takes
into account not only the physical layout and architecture of housing blocks but also how
schools, shops, medical facilities, parks, places of worship, and offices are within easy access.
Towns are also well-served by public transport and road networks. These housing estates have
since transformed Singapore’s landscape. Many of the older estates have been rejuvenated to
meet the needs of residents.
sustaining growth: Setting aside sufficient land and infrastructure for both the manufacturing
and services sectors, and creating new employment clusters and growth corridors will continue
to be important in maintaining our competitiveness. At the same time, we also safeguard
sufficient land for critical infrastructure such as ports and airports to strengthen our linkages to
the rest of the world.
Decentralisation: To reduce peak-hour congestion from traffic flowing in and out of the city-
centre, regional and fringe centres outside of the city centre were introduced in the 1991
Concept Plan to bring jobs closer to home. Tampines Regional Centre and Novena Fringe
Centre have since become bustling hubs, offering a mix of offices, retail, entertainment, and
commercial facilities.
going public Public: transport is a more effective and also environmentally-friendly way to
travel as compared to cars. The rail network and bus services have been continuously enhanced
to make public transport a more convenient way to travel. This is complemented by measures
to control car ownership and usage. By 2020, the rail network will double to 278 km with the
addition of new lines announced in the 2008 Land Transport Master Plan — Thomson Line,
Eastern Region Line, Tuas Extension, and NorthSouth Line extension.
Those are the main reasons why Singapore is the best sustainably developed city. This strategy
can be used as an example for Budapest city development and action plans which we put
forward can be used for the hero squares and nearby attractions development. It solves all the
problems in this place and supports it to future sustainable development.
Business side sustainable development
Financial income for the companies and sustain the jobs are key basic for the sustainable
development. Develop sustainably means support local businesses, create new jobs and use
resources most effective way. In case of hero square and nearby places, as we mentioned there
are a lot of different attractions and sightings which can be part of tourist passages. However
we could not identified companies which are operation in this places and have tours which
includes all attractions. There are some companies which have tour packages included only
three or four attractions. It is not sustainable development of course. We must consider all
main attractions current place and do not refuse others (supplementary attractions). Our group
decided to use complex approach and we will create tour packages which includes all
attractions nearby places. It will be quite different to the competitor’s suggestions.
Main competitor in the project area: GetYourGuide . They have great and most visited web
site. On the other hand they have better tour packages in our project area then others:
We consider this company as the strongest competitor because they package includes four
mainattractions in project area. Heroes square, Vajdahunyad Castle, Szechenyi Bath and
Andrassy Avenue. As you see there are other attractions which is not included in this tour so
we will create packages which will be consisted of those four main sightseeing and other
supplementary attractions as well.
SWOT
Strengths
Environmental: (city park- the biggest bark in Budapest. Green area, artificial lake and
river)
Cultural diversity: (three museums in project area)
Historical monuments: (Andrassy Avenue, Vajdahunyad Castle, heroes’ square)
Entertainment facilities: (Szechenyi Bath, Budapest Zoo, Amusement park,)
Weaknesses
low competition
pollution problem
Rubbish bines are not everywhere.
No eco-toilets
No souvenir shops
No direction maps
Homeless people
No bicycle service
No sustainable development plan for this place
There is no tour packages which are included all attractions
No small shops
Opportunities
New product development opportunities based on tour packages
Attract different tourist segments because there are different attractions in our project
area.
Local small business development (small shops. Souvenirs)
Investment opportunities (because of great location)
Best strategy development which can be applied for other places in Budapest and in
another cities
Service development (especially in foreign languages)
Planning and control system development
Create new jobs in tourism industry
More income for local business
More secured environment
Threats:
There is a possibility to become this place overcrowded and it can be dangerous for
environment
Pollution can make bed impact on tourists and it will be dangerous for the image of this
place
Without sustainable development plan it is impossible to preserve city parks unique
environment
Inappropriate use of this project area makes great impact for the local people who are
using this place for relax. It also makes influence on local business because it is basic
of in equal income distribution.
Homeless people may be dangerous for children and tourists as well. Because
sometimes there is a chance to spread some kind of frauds.
Sustainable development strategy and objectives
Strategy components for the project area:
Create attractive living and relaxing atmosphere for local people and for tourist as well
Achieve highest level of environmental sustainability
Preserve historical environmental and cultural resources
Create official fund to finance sustainable development activities
Achieve high level of governance by the tourism authorities
Minimize harmful effects on natural environment
Main objectives addressed to above mentioned strategies:
Create main local urban development structure with detailed aspects which regulate all
activities carried out project area. (legal framework)
Support to change business climate and help small enterprises to develop new products.
(packages, goods or services)
Improve environmental quality such as air & water quality which are very important
in environmental sustainability
Develop Homeless prevention and intervention programs
Make separate action planes for historical and cultural monuments development
Finance sustainable development plan and tray to spend in a way that supports local
business, environment issues and local people.
Create new events permanently which attracts tourist and local people as well.
In the form of attraction-development:
- Creating more tour packages, especially break city tours, study tours…
- Creating new design for Hero Square and surroundings is impossible. Instead of that,
preserving reasonably well the original form in terms of its conception and its relation to the
surrounding urban environment, as well as the building fabric is the most important part for
develop tourism in this area.
- The preservation and appropriate design of small elements that form part of the street
furniture. There are some problems, for example, in the physical condition of the buildings:
wooden roof structures have suffered from humidity and metal structures have corroded,
requiring maintenance and repair. There have also been some changes in the occupation,
offices tending to replace the earlier residential use, which is a common problem in central
urban areas. There have been problems with regard to development in the setting of the World
Heritage property, both in terms of demolition and inappropriate new structures. Other
challenges are the insurance of heritage-friendly traffic management and the mitigation of
climate change impact on the natural and built environment (for example air-pollution and
deterioration of limestone structures).
Development plans and suggestions based on our research area
In the form of service-development:
There are many restaurants near Hero square and surroundings, so it is unnecessary to build more
restaurants but create food festivals. City Park is a perfect place to celebrate food festivals, however
marketing strategies for those festivals did not work so well.
In the form of local consumer product:
Increasing local consumer products in this area needs to be related with service development. There is
almost no souvenirs in Hero Square and surroundings but we can create that kind of shop in each
hotels, museums and restaurants. In addition, the local products can be sold in festivals as well.
Creation new product for local consumer area
As we mentioned above at our research area – at Hero square and nearby territories were
several restaurants and cafes but there was no even one small shop for the souvenirs,
everybody agree that this is one of the most important things for tourists which will keep
their memories and remind them concrete place. At some special events and national
holidays there is kind of exceptions where visitors can buy specific gifts and typical things for
Hungary but this is not enough. We think that there should be one big souvenir shop which
will have guaranty of success without any competition and there for it would satisfied a
tourist as well.
Also summer is very hot in Budapest in this area it is difficult to find an ice cream or a cold
drink, so summer is coming and it is necessary to open there a places, in hero square and in
park also, were people will be able to buy this things. And in winter it can be successfully
changed by hot drinks too.
European countries has a lot practice of animators and actors who are standing in the
touristic places and attract a tourists with their performance and beautiful costumes. For
example, in Prague you will meet a lot of actors painting acting like a Robots, In Vienna
there is a lot of man who are dressed like a Mozart and they are offering concert tickets to
tourists, so it is good way of marketing too, In Venice you will meet a lot of people wearing
typical costumes of renaissance period or just carnival dresses, It is really beautiful. A lot of
tourist want to take picture with them and it is not free of course , so a little income would
be the profit too.
Our research area is a wonderful place to plan that kind of activities. Actors or volunteers
with traditional Hungarian costumes will have a special schedule and at the second part of a
day they will have a special performances and playing for tourists and this destination will
attract more tourist, It will became a place where they will relax, enjoy and took a fanny
pictures at the same time. Hungarian history is rich by a famous characters so it would be
easy and impressive if the actors will make a live their history as a short performance, It will
have a educational sense also, because they will provide the tourist with important
historical information. Some of the can be the Princess Sissi, Famous Composers Erkel and
Liszt they will walk in park and Vajdahunyad area and tourist would be able to discuss with
them, take picture and will get information about that great composers. Actors would be
able to play musical instrument too, it will be impressive that the ‘’Liszt’’ is playing his
‘’ Liebestraum’’ on a piano in that beautiful area. They will have an opportunity to
participate of cooking traditional food and study basic steps of Hungarian folks too.
Example of Service Development
Product (or service) management includes a wide range of management activities, ranging
from the time that there's a new idea for a product to eventually providing ongoing support
to customers who have purchased the new product. Every organization conducts product
development, whether it's done intentionally or unintentionally.
Tourism products are the basis for a destinations tourism sector operation: unless the
tourism product meets the needs and expectations of tourists, the destination cannot
realise its full potential. However, only few destinations focus their attention on the
development and delivery of the various attractions and activities that make up the tourism
product.
For the service development great example has Georgia. Foreigners and local visitors to
Georgia will find it easier to navigate around Tbilisi ( capital of Georgia) summer thanks to
an initiative to have local guides in main areas of the capital city.
In 2012 The National Tourism Administration (NTA) created a project for Georgian students
to be ‘mobile guides’ in summer. Those who wish to implement in practice the theoretical
knowledge acquired in the field of tourism, are getting a unique chance to get work
experience on this summer season,” read the statement released by the NTA. Students
across all areas of Georgia who are fluent in English and Russian are eligible to apply for the
summer position. The NTA said mobile guides would help foreign tourists gain a better
understanding of the capital and provide people with any information they may need.
Mobile Guides are wearing special Forms with the symbols and writings which easily let
tourist to know that they are here to help them. The selected students are providing guide
service at main attractions for tourists Liberty Square, Rustaveli Ave, Shardeni St and
Abanotubani and Narikala territory. At the end of the summer they are getting the
certificates from national tourism Administration.
So as a Hero Square is one of the most important sightseeing for tourists this project would
be successful here too. As a research heled by administration showed that tourist were very
satisfied with that free service and the remarked that this was the first opportunity to get
such a good service during the travel.
Example of tour packages which can be created in research area
According our current situation analysis, with its strength and weakness we
decide to create tour packages in the Hero square, which will be part of
attraction developments. Hero square is situated in front of the city park, it is
the largest and most impressive square of the city, also with its historical
background and museums it is one of the most visited sights in Budapest. We
were thinking what kind of tour package we could create on the Hero square,
and decide to main territory of package should be Museum of Hungarian
agriculture, because building which looks like old palace and that’s why attracts
a lot of tourist, their expectation is more than reality, and when they are visiting
that museum, most of them are really disappointed becuse as they were saying
its quate borring. So our group decide to add some creative activities of this
destination where tourist will really enjoy. So first component is music, or some
Hungarian traditional melody, which can you hear from entrance by professional
musicians. Also people with Hungarian traditional dress with some performance
around the museum for example at 17:00 o clock, so they will have exact time
to visit this place for another reason, they will plan it before.there tourist will
have opportunity to take pictures with them, to feel Hungarian old life style and
traditions. One of the most important problem of our research was souvenir
shops which is impossible to find near those territory, so we decided to put one
open shop inside of the year where tourist can buy souvenirs for memory. Also
our package will include some surprises for tourist. We will have a historical
questions with them and who will give a correct answer first we will give them
a small present, this kind of activities help us to promote our destination,
increase knowledge about hungarian history between tourist, this should be
funny and at that time interesting for them.We think our ideas about Museum
of Hungarian agriculture territory will attract more tourist in future, and will
have an opportunity to see more happier faces in that destination.
