Located in the well know and favored Santa Maria Valley AVA. Solomon Hills Vineyard benefits from cool marine breezes of the Pacific Ocean, while morning fog and afternoon sun ripens the vineyard with dense fruit flavors and silky tannins. This particular bottling we chose to use Clone 2A of Pinot noir fruit for its stand out profiles. VINIFICATION: The grapes were allowed to cold soak for a period of 6-7 days to extract color and flavor. The wine underwent fermentation in 1.5 ton open top fermenters and was punched down by hand. Each Pinot Noir lot was inoculated with Assmanhausen yeast for its slow fermentation properties and organoleptic influence. Aging took place in 100% French Oak cooperage from a variety of forests for 11 months in 1/3 new oak. TASTING NOTES: Our Summerland Solomon Hills Vineyard Clone 2A Pinot Noir is as unique as the vineyard and clone from which it comes, showing lovely depth, length and style. The maturity of the nose, with highlights of raspberry, green tea, clove and forest ACCOLADES: 2017 LA International Wine Competition Gold Medal Winner
