Regulaton Act 1984 (as amended), ntend not less

an Order the effect of whch wll be:-

1. to prohbt any vehcle from proceedng along the

lengths of road specied n the Schedule to ths

2. to mpose speed lmts of 10 and 30 mles per hour

on the A48 Southern Dstrbutor Road for ts entre

length from Pont Ebbw Roundabout to the Coldra

Roundabout.

Alternatve routes wll be provded for all roads.

The reason for makng the Order s to enable

carrageway resurfacng to take place on roads too

narrow to mantan vehcular trafic. The temporary

speed lmts may be ntroduced over short lengths

of carrageway for short perods of tme along the

SDR to enable carrageway resurfacng works to

be undertaken whlst mantanng vehcular access

along the SDR.

The proposed Order wll be operatve from 16 June

2014 and wll contnue n force for a perod not

exceedng eghteen months or untl the works whch

t s proposed to carry out have been completed,

whchever s the earler.

NB. It is anticipated that the works will be

completed within 1-2 days at each location

however the works affecting the SDR will be

carried out in phases over 12 weeks. Pedestrian

access and emergency vehicle access will be

available at all times.
