Swedish House Mafia – Greyhound Deconstruction

At the start of this music video, which was made by Swedish house mafia, it starts off with an establishing shot this then enables the viewer to justify what sort of location and Tourane the shot has focused on. As you can see it looks like it is located in some disserted area but the colours can connote that there is not going to be danger throughout this video which can also tell you what type of song is expected.

The reason why i have selected these 4 images is because the film crew for this video have been very creative in how they have introduced the artists into this music video. Most standard music videos will show and film the artist sing the song but in this case Swedish house mafia – greyhound is a song which is played without music and played to a beat/rhythm as they are a DJ group. The screenshots taken are in order to how the video is played and they have shown all three different camera angles, in number 1 and 3 they have used mid range shots so that the viewer can also see what sort of location they are in as well as what they are doing. Number 2 is a close up of one of the guys, they could have done this so that it’s a much closer view in the technology that is used within this video and how it is being controlled. And finally the 4th shot shows a long shot even an establishing shot of them all almost looking like they are in some sort of holographic suit or it could be that they are controlling something.

In a music video there are several ways in which you can present or even plan a music video, based on this music video it is shown by a storyline/event which can make a music video more intriguing to watch which is what this screenshot is. It is showing all the teams that are representing each one of the 3 artists. Other music videos can be presented as a collection of clips put together in one video it all come down to the genre.

As you can see i have specifically placed these 2 images next to each other because these are the 2 shots that are played before the race starts. What this video shows is a a simple but a not very popular track racing sports where in modern time traditional greyhounds race round a track chasing this cylinder object which is place on the inside circle of the arena. This song I believe is trying to produce a futuristic representation of this track sport and I also believe this is where the name comes from.
