SWEETHEART DRESS: This dress is knit flat from the top down and then joined in the round. It is pulled onto the doll by inserting the doll feet into the dress neck and pulling it on upwards, making sure to stop at the hands and inserting them into the arm holes.
Materials:
Approximately 50 yds of fingering weight yarn. Size 2.75mm DPNs or 2 circular needles (or needle size to get gauge.) Tapestry needle.
Gauge:
8 stitches per inch and 12 rows per inch in stockinette stitch.
Directions:
CO 28 sts
Row 1: K.
Row 2: K1, [M1, k2, M1, k6]* *repeat 2 more times, M1, k2, M1, k1. You should have 36 sts.
Row 3: K.
Row 4: K2, p1, bind off 10, p10, bind off 10, p1, k2. You should have 16 sts.
Row 5: K1, M1, K2, cast on 2 sts, k10, cast on 2 sts, k2, M1, k1. You should have 22 sts.
Row 6: K2, p until 2 sts remain, k2.
Row 7: K1, M1, k until 1 st remains, M1, k1. You should have 24 sts.
Row 8: K2, p until 2 sts remain, k2.
Row 9: K
Joining in the Round:
Arrange stitches on DPNs, two circular needles or magic loop needle to prepare to join in the round.
Round 10: K.
Continue in st st for 7 more rounds.
Round 18: Kfbf* *repeat until end of the round. You should have 72 sts.
Round 19: K.
Continue in st st for 30 more rounds.

Garter Stitch Border:
Round 50: P.
Round 51: K.
Repeat these two rounds 2 more times.
Picot Edging:
Round 56: [Cast on 2 sts (with cable cast on), bind off 4 sts]* *repeat until no sts remain.
Cut yarn and weave in ends. Soak in warm water, press out water in a dry towel and then shape and lay flat to dry.

SWEETHEART SHOES These little shoes are knit from the toe up and in the round.
Materials:
Approximately 8 yds (2 gms) of fingering weight yarn. Size 2.75mm DPNs or 2 circular needles (or needle size to get gauge.) Tapestry needle.
Gauge:
8 stitches per inch and 12 rows per inch in stockinette stitch.
Directions:
Using Judy’s magic cast on, cast on 8 sts (4 per needle).
Set up round: Knit across both needles. (Note: The cast-on loops on needle #2 are twisted. On the first round only, knit them through the back of the loops to untwist them. After this round, the sts are worked normally.)
Increase round:
First needle: K1, M1R, k until 1 st remain, M1L, k1.
Second needle: K1, M1R, k until 1 st remain, M1L, k1. You should have 6 sts per needle or 12 sts total.
Round 3: K.
Foot:
Round 4: K3, bind off 6 sts, k3.
Round 5: K3. This marks the new beginning of the round.
Round 6: P.
Round 7: K.
Repeat previous 2 rounds 1 more time.
Round 10: P.
Round 11: K to end, cast on 6.
