Goalball is a exciting team sport developed for people who are blind or vision impaired but also enjoyed by sighted players. Blindfolded players rely on tactile surfaces and line markers to orient themselves on the court and defend their goal. At the same time, their blindfolded opponents attempt to bowl an audible ball across the court into the goal zone to score points. Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association welcomes anyone to come and try goalball at the Brisbane, Cairns or Townsville programs. We offer two free trial sessions for anyone who has not previously attended a goalball program. Note: Players must be an Association member to regularly attend the program. www.sportingwheelies.org.au Goalball For more information, contact Robyn Stephensen, Sport Development Coordinator on (07) 3253 3333 or email: [email protected] Region Day and time Cost Venue Brisbane Saturday 9am-12pm Commencing 9 March 2019 $240 Adults $200 Juniors $12 casual play YMCA Bowen Hills, 95 Abbotsford Road, Bowen Hills Cairns Saturday 10.30am-12.30pm Commencing 23 February 2019 $220 Adults $180 Juniors $12 casual play Cairns State High School Cnr Upward and Sheridan Street Cairns North Townsville Monday 4pm—5pm Commencing 25 February $150 full year $50 per season Townsville Stadium Murray Lyons Crescent, Annandale
