THE MOOD
Inspiration pulls from the ocean and its inhabitants for the performance swimwear sector in analyzing the motion and flexibility in the water. The acceleration and agility of fish, the soft yet protective structure of coral leads to a strong bio-mimicry influence. Compact circular and warp knits feature, incredibly light with the support and longevity delivered by creora® highclo™ super chlorine resistant spandex/elastane. New micro structures enhanced with finishes and bonded seams, reduce drag and enhance glide to improve the swimmers speed and performance.
With lightweight, hydrophobic qualities featuring in the pro levels, there is interest in polypropylene for with creora® eco-soft for buoyant benefits. There is still a strong interest in fitness swimming and increased interest in aqua fitness. Core stability and lasting support is delivered with creora® highclo™ super chlorine resistant spandex/elastane. As athleisure continues to grow in the activewear sector, it is only natural that this lifestyle mood will influence swimwear. Expect to see a surge in surf-inspired fabrics and styles. This is a combination of faux surf goers who just want the look, to legitimate athletes who hit the high seas, requiring differing levels of performance. Key inspiration to this direction is enjoyment and pleasure, whether looking out to sea or surfing the sea.
A relaxed faded mood features, bright tones are aged a little as if from too long in the sun and through wear and tear. The connection with the coastal outdoors also leads to a strong sustainable direction with recycled synthetics and natural fibers. Both fashion and performance swimwear follows a stylish route with performance rash guard tops working as well on the beach as they do on the surf board. An additional aspect is the demand for related beachwear items although not as coordinated as in the other directions. This trend really confirms that life is a beach!
