The Royal Swing
Swings in India are a symbol of royalty, swings whichare commonly known as “Jhoola”. Wooden Jhoolas withgold ornamentation with decorative patters of nature and afew abstract forms were well know in that era.
In the 20th century these jhoolas became a focal point inIndian homes which were commonly placed in thecourtyards. Jhoola and its supporting framework was madeof teak wood, it still had the intricate patterns of nature, mesh work etc.
Making the Jhoola detachable from its supporting system and using it as a 4 seater chair or a dining space.Making it look modernized with the use of materials, simplifying the patterns and retaining the traditional feel.
