Product Quality Manager
Backlist titles are often used as templates for
creating new titles in ERP systems without
checking in the first place if all metadata will
be correct for the new title. And there are
various other reasons – such as switching to
a new system, adapting to changing market
requirements, acquisitions of products from
other publishers, etc. – why titles are often as-
sociated with wrong or incomplete metadata.
Improving your metadata will ensure that
your titles are more likely to be found on the
Web, and you will benefit from a greater ac-
ceptance among your distributors.
Our smart tool brings monitoring and improv-
ing metadata to a STREAM app level: easy
to work with, accessible from anywhere and
on any type of device. To cover all relevant
aspects in this area, Klopotek’s Product Qual-
ity Manager provides two views on data man-
agement: the (large) title list and the single
product level.
All industry standards, such an ONIX, are fully
supported. The app can also make title import
processes that are necessary for retailers such
as Amazon smoother and help to clean up
your product pool.

Early Title Manager
Klopotek's Early Title Manager facilitates the entry of data which is central to the title management processes in your editorial de-partment. It can easily be customized to meet the requirements of editors, editorial assis-tants, and information management teams. The user wants to create a new title, a new set header, a new version of an existing ti-tle, or a new edition for an existing version. They can enter a provisional title record and complete the title data in subsequent steps. The UI guides the user through the process, making it clear which fields are mandatory in each step and which fields have to be filled in in order to move to the next stage of the title editing process.
As long as a title is marked as a draft or not yet approved, it is only visible in Early Title Manager, not in the classic product pool
in PPM (Klopotek Classic Line). In this way, the title is excluded from other processes in PPM, particularly export/import processes, until it has been approved.
Early Title Manager facilitates the early phases of title editing. The user sees at a glance all the titles which are awaiting pro-cessing in their personal workspace. They select the next title from the list, check and add the necessary data, and (if they have the appropriate authorization) approve it, making it visible and editable for all au-thorized PPM users. Once the appropriate fields have been filled in, the title receives a new status. Titles are always visible to us-ers who are authorized for this status.
Early Title Manager provides planning and budgeting tools for doing a first calculation.

Title Metadata Editor
Title Metadata Editor is your app for custom-
izable title management: It’s you who decides
which attributes and data should be included
in your workflow, e.g. title & author informa-
tion, product identifier, version & edition data,
print runs, etc.
In Klopotek, over 100 attributes are available.
By narrowing them down and arranging them
in the app, you create your own user interface
and workflow for title management.
But which attributes require adding data at
which point in time? To keep a clear overview,

If you’d like to work with different sce-narios in Title Metadata Editor that are not part of the standard delivered by us, you can employ the Scenario Manager, an app to design your own schemes.
Creating your own scenario is done in a simple 3-step process that ensures maxi-mum efficiency and reusability:
You first add the elements of our available attributes and arrange them in groups. The second step is creating a canvas. Finally, you build your own scenario by adding your canvases to it and assigning them to a workflow step – done.

Blurb Manager
The Blurb Manager supports creating vari-ous text elements that are needed in the title approval process, for marketing activi-ties as well as for providing bibliographic details.
In the Klopotek Classic Line, such text ele-ments are created in conjunction with the product as notes or content descriptions. The STREAM app enables the user to add blurbs to either works or products. Focus-ing on the work (instead of the product) and adding blurbs to it (rather than to the product) can be a huge advantage. The blurbs added to a work can not only be made available for all product forms de-rived from the work, they are also part of all product export procedures including the catalog export.
The web app also supports ‘links’ that refer-ence information elements stored in other environments. It can be used in the context of the Early Work Manager or Title Meta-data Manager as well as a stand-alone tool.
KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Simple creation of texts (‘blurbs’) for title approval, marketing, and providing bibliographic info
Blurbs can be created for both products and works (various products can be derived from a work)
Can be part of all product export procedures, incl. catalog export
Supports ‘links’ to information stored in other environments
Can be used in conjunction with other STREAM apps or as a stand-alone product

Classification Manager
Classifying books, e-books, and other prod-ucts is a key factor in product marketing and sales. Products that are tagged with a high-quality subject classification profit from increased visibility in different mar-kets, whilst becoming more discoverable by potential buyers and intended target audiences.
National and international industry stan-dards bodies such as EDItEUR, BISG, or BIC have been working on classification sche-mas as a service and tool for the book in-dustry’s supply chain for many years. Clas-sification schemes such as ‘thema’, BISAC
Easy use of all
industry standards!
KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Index of the content of 'thema'- relevant products
The ability to set up other industry classification systems (BISAC, BIC etc.) as well as your own in-house product classifications
Enables editorial, sales and market-ing users to identify the relevant categories easily and to classify products thoroughly and consistently with a minumum of effort
and BIC are large category trees that are designed to cover all relevant subject areas or classification needs.
The Classification Manager enables editori-al, sales, and marketing users to easily iden-tify the relevant categories and to classify their products as consistently as possible while keeping their effort for the assign-ment of classifications to a minimum.
With the Classification Manager, it‘s very easily possible, for example, to allocate a 'thema' category to a large number of titles at once. And with around 2,500 subjects and 2,000 additional qualifiers, many of our custom-ers are glad to have this tool to categorize their backlist titles efficiently.

Upgrade to STREAM: leave the limitations of Client-Server technology behind
We took a unique approach to secure the business of our customers, preventing them from being forced to switch technology and systems all at once by having a ‘big bang migration’: this strategy is called the ‘dual technology stack’. Following this approach, Klopotek STREAM was developed using the same data model and configuration frame-work as the Client-Server solution does.
STREAM development follows an exception-ally user-centric approach that creates a new, unrivalled user experience on top of the func-tional power of the Klopotek solution. The STREAM technology stack by design allows a significant reduction in operational and in-frastructure costs in comparison to employing Client-Server software.

Inventory Manager
Benefit from a full overview of your stock inventory or a detailed view at title level, making use of personalized alerts and watch lists.
Klopotek’s Inventory Manager can help you to reduce costs across the supply chain, as it enables you to clearly determine when your publishing products should be reproduced.
This is made possible by making use of two views that can be pre-sented next to each other: a full ‘observer’ or ‘monitoring’ overview of your entire stock inventory and all titles (or specific groups of titles), and a detailed view at title level for specific products that are particularly relevant.
