EMPLOYER
HAS A HIRING NEED
Partner with a Job Developer• Foster
understanding of employment needs and company culture.
• Deliver resumes of pre-screened veterans.
• Coordinate throughout the hiring process.
Strategic Hiring Event
Job Developer serves as
project manager•The event is organized for hiring managers to interview veterans, and they can hire on the spot! •Determine skills requirements.
Support from Swords
•Recruitment may include: internal recruitment, social media campaigns, reaching out to our veteran network and community partners. •Pre-screen may include: Meeting one-on-one, assessing skills and background, testing, and mock interviews.•Qualify veterans for the event.
EMPLOYER HAS A MINIMUM OF 5 IMMEDIATE POSITIONS
Employer-Driven Curriculum Training (EDC)
Case Manager serves as project manager
•Recruitment may include: internal recruitment, social media campaigns, reaching out to our veteran network and community partners.•Prescreen may include: meeting one-on-one, assessing skills and background, testing and mock interviews. •Provide case management until employer hires after training is complete
Planning for the Employer-Driven Curriculum Training
• Collaborate with local training resource to produce a condensed curriculum (e.g. 12-week course at a community college).
• Foster understanding of employer needs and company culture.
EMPLOYER HAS A MINIMUM OF 15 HARD TO FILL, SKILLED POSITIONS
Veteran Apprenticeship Program (VAP)
Support from Swords
• Recruitment may include: internal recruitment, social media campaigns, reaching out to our veteran network and community partners.
• Prescreen may include: meeting one-on-one, assessing skills and background, and testing
• Help to coordinate and facilitate classroom training, incorporating the EDC model
• Swords may be able to provide wrap around services to help ensure
Major Components of VAP
• Employer identifies ideal candidates and hires apprentice(s) as full-fledged employees based on desired competencies and potential to complete job training. Employer then retains apprentice(s) throughout training
• Register program with Office of Apprenticeships
• Collaborate with local training resource to produce a condensed curriculum
THE EMPLOYER HAS MANY HARD TO FILL, SKILLED POSITIONS THAT THEY WILL PROVIDE PAID TRAINING FOR TO ACQUIRE
