From the Office………,
…. Determined December
We are on the home stretch for 2019. The year has gone by quickly, but
it is hard to believe how the past four months of this school year has
gone by.
Thank you to all of our families who were able to come out for parent/
teacher interviews. Our staff was very busy meeting with their students’
families. We appreciate the strong, positive relationships we have with
our SWPS families.
During our PA day, our staff were involved with Math learning. Thank you
to Mme. Chronopoulos, Mrs. Spatola, Mr. Saunders, Mr. Bachmeier,
Mme. Gray and Mrs. Oliverio in planning the Math professional develop-
ment for the staff. The staff took away knowledge about 3-Part Math Les-
sons, technology and math, and Learning Centres. Lots of meaningful,
relevant learning took place.
Thank you to our community for rallying together to help one of families
whose young daughter has been diagnosed with leukemia. Mrs. Cacilhas,
Mrs. Oliverio and Mrs. Fabbro have been organizing the hot chocolate
fundraiser for the family. Another kind gesture by SWPS.
Lastly, we want to wish all of our families a very happy, restful, joyful and
peaceful holidays. Enjoy your time with your family and we will see you
Monday, January 6, 2020!
Your Partners in Education,

The RISE class is excited to introduce a
new recycling program at SWPS.
Throughout the school year any used
markers, highlighters, pens and other
plastic writing supplies can be delivered
to the RISE room. The RISE students will
sort and package these to be sent to the
Crayola Colour Cycle and Terracycle Pro-
grams. These programs repurpose the
supplies and keep them out of our land-
