IntroductionThe COVID-19 pandemic poses a great challenge
to the whole world, disrupting all aspects of life,
including the education sector. In response,
Manresa School formulates its Learning Continuity
Plan to address the challenge and to provide
direction as we move forward to school year 2020-
2021. The school considers the health and safety of
the entire educative community as its priority,
while committing to support the continuity of
learning for its learners.

School CalendarAs communicated by the Department of
Education, S.Y. 2020-2021 will commence on
August 24, 2020 and will close on April 30, 2021.
Grade School and Junior High School departments
will continue to adopt a trimestral schedule.
1st Term: August 24 to November 13, 2020
2nd Term: November 16, 2020 to February 5, 2021
3rd Term: February 8 to April 30, 2021

The Senior High School department will maintain
the semestral schedule.
First Semester: August 24 to December 11, 2020
Second Semester: January 4 to April 30, 2021
These are subject for review as the date draws
closer.

To enforce precautionary measures while
waiting for the vaccine against COVID-19,
the first semester/trimester will be delivered
through Online Distance Learning. Varied
online strategies will be implemented in
accordance to the nature of the subjects and
needs of learners.

When it is already safe for them to come to
school as advised by DOH and DepEd,
eventual shift to Blended Learning Mode
(mix of online and actual encounter on
regulated and staggered schedule) will be
introduced until the resumption of the
regular physical classroom encounter.

CurriculumWith online distance learning as the “new
normal”, the curriculum will be focused on, but not
limited to the Most Essential Learning
Competencies prescribed by the Department of
Education. Online class schedules are designed so
that students will focus on two to three subjects at
a time within a certain period. Careful scheduling
of subjects will be done to ensure that
students will be able to concentrate on the
mastery of set competencies and standards.

To aid online learning, learners will be
provided with instructional resources
and supplemental materials that the
teachers will prepare aside from
textbooks that serve as learners’ main
reference.

AssessmentsTo monitor learners’ progress, formative
assessments will be implemented; summative
assessments will be given online to gauge their
acquisition of knowledge and understanding of
concepts; and performance tasks will be
provided for the demonstration and transfer of
learning. For Preschool to Grade 3 pupils,
Performance Tasks and individualized
assessments will be conducted through
online video conferencing.

The school is committed to provide
integral Christian formation towards holistic
learner development. Guidance Services,
Pastoral Care, Co-curricular Opportunities,
Health Updates, and other services are
extended using available means to keep
the balance of offering quality
education and caring for each other as
brothers and sisters.

Online enrollment will start on May 18,
2020. A link will be sent through Infocast to
access the online enrollment form.
Mode of Registration & Enrollment
Onsite enrollment will start a week after
the ECQ has been lifted, following the post-
ECQ protocols set by the government.

With the new mode of learning, there is
a reduction in school fees. Flexible payment
options are also available.

crisis. As we walk together to face the coming

This pandemic posted great challenge to
