SF12 HIGH TEMPERATURE CCTV SYSTEMFOR

BOILERS ▪ KILNS ▪ FURNACES ▪ INCINERATORS

SYN-FAB® SF12 series imaging systems represent the state-of-the-art in high temperature process monitoring. Each system utilizes a high-tech combination of electronics, optics and protection to produce sharp, long lasting video of your process. The SF12C is our most popular high temp system and is suitable for monitoring most boilers, furnaces and kilns. The SF12C produces a true color image of your process. The SF12SP is a special application system that can be viewed stand alone or fed to one of our SPECTRUM™ or PYROVIPER™ image processing systems.

BENEFITS TO OPERATORS

MSS0010 AUTOMATIC RETRACT

The MSS0010 Automatic Retract is an option for use with SYN-FAB’s high temperature imaging systems. The MSS0010 will automatically pull the camera system back away from the furnace in the event that cooling air or power to the system is lost. A manual retract switch is also provided for operators’ use to pull the system back (and reinsert after) for lens cleaning, port de-slagging, etc. An optional PLC based controller is also available that allows for other events to trigger retraction as well as status signals and alarm outputs. “Other events” may include high temperature alarms, event alarms, and/or remote switching. The MSS0010 relies on a dependable pneumatic cylinder to retract the system. This cylinder operates on air stored in the air filters or an optional reservoir.

Automatic Retract Cylinder Length Discussion

When activated, SYN-FAB’s standard auto-retract cylinder withdraws the lens tip 6” into the wallbox. Experience has proved that this is enough to protect the lens from moderate, positive pressure blowback. If the system is exposed to severe blowback, there is a chance of damage to the lens regardless of whether the lens is retracted 6”, 12” or completely. Optional retract cylinders are available that will completely withdraw the lens from the wallbox. These are for applications that have a high probability of severe, positive pressure blowbacks. If this is the case, for maximum protection an FX series wallbox should be considered in addition to the full retract cylinder. Be advised that consideration must be given to clearance and safety zone behind the system if a longer retract cylinder is specified. In all cases, upset conditions that cause the system to be retracted should be investigated and corrected as soon as possible.

PYROVIPER™ Bed Temperature Monitoring & Analysis

The benefits of operators being able to visually monitor the interior of boilers, furnaces, kilns and other high temperature processes have long been proven. Adding the integrated ability to accurately measure and access process temperature to the video capabilities of the imaging system greatly expands the utility of this technology. SYN-FAB offers three levels of combining the video from our high temperature imaging systems with temperature monitoring. Our PYROVIPER™ PV-DAC (kilns and recovery boilers) is a PC based, software driven image processing and analysis system which allows unlimited target areas to be defined and measured within the field of view of each imaging system. A color thermograph of the process area can be generated with this system as well as many other image processing and data analysis functions. Image and data storage, trending, and outputting via several formats are available with the PV-DAC system.

SAE00031-II Thermal Analyzer on Kiln

Process temperature from 400° F (204°C) to 3300°F (1816° C) can be monitored with the systems depending on the model and calibration ranges selected. The two-color, dual wave-length feature of the PYROVIPER™ system allows for the accurate measurement of temperatures in processes that may become obscured by smoke, dust or particulate. Systems can also be calibrated for flame and/or surface temperature measurement within the processes. All units are factory calibrated to an industry standard heat source and shipped with system specific calibration tables. The SFPR High Temperature Pyrometer may be used for non-contact temperature measurement without video.

SYN-FAB TEMPERATURE MONITORING SOLUTIONSFOR

BOILERS ▪ KILNS ▪ FURNACES ▪ INCINERATORS

The Thermal Analyzer II is a basic system which allows the operator to define and display up to 4 target areas within the field of view of the imaging system. The average temperature of each target area is displayed on the Thermal Analyzer and is also available as industry standard outputs for connection to other devices or the plant’s DCS.

Our SPECTRUM™ TG is an economical and easy to use image processor that will transform the video from your SYN-FAB high temperature imaging system into a calibrated color thermograph. Instead of the typical monochrome infrared image, a temperature defined color image is displayed on the monitor.
