The greatest strength & wealth of our nation is our Youth. Quality of Youth determines the kind of future the Nation will have. The Youth will be the torch-bearers of the Nation that is moving forward with ambitious programs like “MAKE IN INDIA”, “SKILL INDIA” “DIGITAL INDIA”, etc. The creative potential of the Youth, can bring about phenomenal transformation in the country.

It is therefore important to educate, empower and encourage our Youth – the powerhouse of energy, creativity and innovation - to lead us into a better tomorrow. Hence the need for organizing events to nurture and harness the Youth.

Faculty Of Computer Applications – Marwadi Eduction Foundation’s Group of Institutions (FOCA-MEFGI) has been successfully organizing State Level Mega Carnivals every year under the title “SYNERGY”. The title has been chosen for the reason that it is a clipped version of “Synchronize” and “Energy”. The term “SYNERGY” implies that energy comes from various sources and factors which are made to act simultaneously upon a certain teaching and learning situation.

SYNERGY, an Annual State Level Mega Carnival incorporates a variety of Technical and Non-Technical Events. The Carnival provides a host of opportunities to Youth to actively participate and expose their talents Conceptualized in 2014, SYNERGY-2015 witnessed a footfall of 5,000 with 800+ students participation from various MCA colleges across Gujarat.

SYNERGY 2016 witnessed the increased footfall of 12,000 and a participation of around 1,600+ students from MCA and other colleges across Gujarat.

Continuing the legacy, SYNERGY 2017, will be organized in our campus on 10th and 11th February 2017 on a very large scale. Participants will be students pursuing Graduation or Post Graduation from any College / University

NOTE : For SOLO entries, one participant can register for multiple entries. For GROUP entries, one Registration Entry need to be done. In any case, Registration Fee will be based on number of events and number of participants

1. Participants need to download their Receipt and come with the related Synergy Receipts only. Once you register, Receipt will be generated automatically.

2. Multiple entries from same institute are allowed. However, the entries can be handed over through Staff Coordinator / Student Coordinator. In such case, it is advisable to contact Registration Committee Head (Prof. Ashwin Dobariya) for better execution and coordination.

3. On the day of event, participants MUST SHOW THEIR IDENTITIFY PROOF (Licence / Aadhar Card / College I-Card) at registration desk. After this only participant will be entitled for registration.

4. Participants are STRICTLY INFORMED to keep their SYNERGY I-Card / Receipt with them. If Event I-Card is lost before event, he/she will be solely responsible for the same.

Rules / Guidelines / Judging Criteria Drama

1. Maximum 12 and minimum 5 participants are allowed in each team. 2. Time limit is 30 minutes including break. 3. Max. 4 Tables & 4 chairs will be provided. Remaining thing, participants have to

manage. 4. Background dialog is not allowed and also inform actual required Duration of

Drama within given time limit. 5. Vulgarity or bitter insinuations in presentation should be avoided.

SKIT

1. Only one team from each institute will be allowed. 2. Minimum 2 and Maximum 6 participants are allowed in a team. 3. Maximum time 10 minutes is allotted to each team. 4. Use of make-up, drapery and background music is allowed. 5. Personal Remarks, aspersions, character assassination etc. are not allowed. 6. Participating team should submit three copies of the synopsis of the theme of

Skit, along with language of presentation (Gujarati or Hindi or English) on the day of registration and also specify actual required Duration of Skit within given time limit.

7. The item will be judged basically on the qualities like theme, work on acting, stage craft, design and general impression etc.

8. Vulgarity or bitter insinuations in presentation should be avoided. Only 9. Innocent satire or humour is expected.


Mono Acting 1. One Participant is allowed. However there may be more than one entries from

one institute. 2. Duration of performance should be between 3 to 5 minutes, if participant

requires more than specified time, need to take prior permission from event coordinator.

3. Participant can perform only one character in acting. 4. Only Background Music is allowed (if required) 5. Three copies brief note on the script, name of the author and theme should be

submitted well in advance to the event in charge of competition also specify actual required Duration of Mono acting within given time limit.

6. Costume, and other required properties should be brought by the participant. That will be not provided.

7. Judgment will be based on relevance, quick response, acting, theme, costume and general impression.

In case of a tie there shall be a seventh round. 5. First three rounds are of elimination round. 6. No songs can be repeated in the complete game. 7. The decision of the judge/judges shall be final and binding on all teams. 8. Total time of the event will be four hours.

(Judges Evaluation will start from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. However posters will be kept on the ground for whole day)

1. No of participants can be between 1 to maximum 3. However there may be more than one team from the same institution.

2. Participant HAS TO CARRY self made prepared poster from their premises only. Participants will not be allowed to prepare poster at venue of the competition

3. Participants can prepare poster on any of the topic BUT the poster should convey some MESSAGE

4. All the posters will be checked and verified at the time of registration and incase of irrelevant content, that poster will be rejected immediately.

5. Poster Size: Regular Drawing Sheet Size i.e. 40cm x 60cm. (No readymade BANNERS will be allowed i.e. Flex Banner, Vinyl, Sunboard banners will not be allowed)

6. Participants may use some decorative items to decorate the poster. Poster should not be prepared with only such items. Some text part and creativity will be considered

7. A participant (at least 1 from each team) has to remain present at the venue of poster event continuously and he/she must explain about their poster themes in detail to all the judges or to any college officials who will visit their poster.

8. Selected posters SHOULD also be KEPT for BOTH DAYS of event 9. In any case, decision of judges will be final.

Rules / Guidelines / Judging Criteria 1. In one team maximum two participants shall be allowed. However more than

one team can take part from the same institution. 2. Team is responsible for arrangement of the material required to prepare the

Rangoli. 3. There will be only one round of competition and teams will be awarded

maximum two hours time to prepare the Rangoli. 4. Participant Teams will be provided marked space (Approximately 3 x 3 sq. ft) for

Rangoli preparation. 5. The criteria for judging will be: choice of design, color combination, cleanliness

and overall Effectiveness. 6. Paints, sketch pens, crayons, color pencils are STRICTLY PROBHITED. However the

other decorative things would be accepted for the decoration. 7. The participants will not be allowed to carry a design plan in ANY FORMAT. 8. The decision of Judges will be final.

READYMADE STUFF will not be allowed in any case. 5. Total time for the competition is 2 Hours 6. Judgement will be done on the basis of creativity of the waste material. Size

doesn’t matter.

Rules : COUNTER STRIKE (CS)

1. Team size SHOULD be maximum 5 members. 2. If your team size is less than five then we will combine some other students

and make it group of 5 randomly. Students have to wait for the same. 3. No cheat will be allowed. If any cheat found, team will be disqualified. 4. Minimum five round will be conducted. 5. Each round may be of maximum 10 minutes(approx.) 6. In case of any dispute, event coordinator’s decision will be final.

Rules : NEED FOR SPEED (NFS)

1. Entry must be individual. 2. NFS race will be conducted between 4 players at a time then next round will

be conducted among winners. This will keep on filtering winners. 3. No cheat will be allowed. If found, team will be disqualified. 4. Each race may be of 8 to 10 minutes (approx.) 5. In case of any dispute, event coordinator’s decision will be final

Event : “Chal Chitram” – Movie Making

1. There MUST BE minimum 2 and maximum 5 participants as a team. 2. Themes of Movie Making should be ANY ONE from following

- Black and White - Save Girl Child - Nature - Technology - Comedy - College Life - Life without Gadget - Feeling Top in the World - Friends - Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan

3. Teams must prepare movie based on the given theme only. 4. PPT will not be entertained as a Movie. It must be only in AVI or MPEG format. 5. Participating team may use photographs, video or any other medium in order to

create movie. 6. Duration of movie must be between 3 to 6 minutes. It should not exceed 6

minutes in any case. 7. The movie should be created only by Participants. However if judges found that

4. Participants should submit 3 entries (photos) for the given theme(s). They can take as many as photographs required but they need to submit best 3 of them.

5. Basic Technical editing of Photo is acceptable, provided any such Editing does not affect the authenticity & genuineness of the Photo.

6. Photos should be clicked only by the Participant. However if judges found that photos are not clicked by Participant or downloaded, that Participant WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
