EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Objective
This system proposal would bring the speaker system and projection systems utilized by the
Entertainment department to modern professional level, both providing the tools necessary to learn
and deploy professional level audio and video systems.
Goals
Audio
• Provide even coverage throughout the theatre.
• Update system components to modern technologies utilized in professional environments.
• Have equipment that is used widely in the professional market in order to better prepare
students .for post-graduation employment through hands on experience.
Video
• Provide flexibility for the use of projections in the theatre.
• Update system components to modern technologies utilized in professional environments.
• Have equipment that is used widely in the professional market in order to better prepare students
for post-graduation employment through hands on experience.
Solution
In order to meet the goals above I propose the purchase of a Meyer Line Array Speaker System for
our audio system, and the purchase of 2 projectors to be utilized for the video system.
Project Outline
In this document there is a proposed system for upgrading the systems mentioned above, along with
technical documentation explaining the choices made.

ENT PURCHASING REQUEST FORM
Submission Date: May 23, 2018 Name of Requestor: Augustus Kapko Title of Request: Voorhees Theatre Speaker Upgrade Semester Needed: Fall, 2018
Total Cost: $120,244.16
Brief description of requested items: (This is a summary, not a detailed list.)
Line Array System
Justification for request:
The current speaker system in the Voorhees Theatre is currently reaching the end of its useful life, and is nearly obsolete. In the past decade speaker technology has improved dramatically and current products allow for precise control. With the proposed system we will be able to have even coverage across the theatre, and have the ability to provide a better experience for our audiences. Further line array speaker systems are currently utilized in the professional world, in theatre, concerts and corporate work, and currently we do not have the ability to teach hands on experience to our students. Overall the proposed system would allow us to have a flexible, professional speaker system that would benefit our productions and our students marketability in the current production field.
Courses that will benefit from request: (Use course codes and titles.)

SPEC SHEET Lina Spec Sheet
LEOPARD, use Native Mode optimized for use with minimal external processing, yielding excellent system performance right out of the box.
Taking advantage of the same compact external dimensions and rigging as MINA, the new LINA faithfully reproduces audio with tremendous power, superior intelligibility, and extremely low distortion.
For low-frequency extension, LINA pairs with Meyer Sound’s 750-LFC low-frequency control element, which can be flown as part of LINA arrays without any transition hardware. The 750-LFC shares with LINA the advantages of excellent power-to-size ratio, efficiency, and versatility.
For applications requiring more low-frequency headroom, Meyer Sound’s 900-LFC is also suited for integration with LINA systems.
LINA includes Meyer Sound’s QuickFly® rigging with captive GuideALinks™, which are compatible with MINA and allows easy setting of splay angles from 1 to 11 degrees. Rigging options are shared with MINA and include the MG-MINA/750-LFC multipurpose grid, MCF-MINA caster frame, MYA-MINA Yoke and MUB-MINA U-bracket.
Entire LEO family systems should be designed with Meyer Sound’s MAPP-XT, effectively anticipating system SPL and coverage needs.
The use of the MDM-832 distribution module routing AC power, balanced audio, and RMS™ to multiple LINA loudspeakers further enhances the portability and easiness to configure a system.
LINA excels in array performance, providing exceptional high frequency headroom, phase coherence and consistent coverage in a light, compact cabinet making it extremely versatile.
A newly-designed class D amplifier affords unprecedented efficiency to LINA. This innovative new amplifier, signal processing and drivers ensure that LINA systems reproduce any sound source with linearity over a wide dynamic range, from speech and classical music to rock and EDM.
Its low weight and small size make it ideal for use in low-profile, high-power curvilinear array systems and an excellent choice for small theatres, theme parks, houses of worship, AV systems, and any venue where size and weight are concerns and exceptional fidelity and intelligibility are requirements. LINA is also well-equipped for use as a single cabinet or for use with a small number of cabinets for applications requiring a precise, high-frequency vertical pattern. Single cabinets and short stacks are ideal for front fill and under-balcony applications. In addition to working as a standalone system, LINA can also be used as a supplemental fill loudspeaker in LEOPARD systems.
The LINA compact linear line array loudspeaker is the logical evolution of the highly successful MINA loudspeaker now optimized using the latest technology that makes the LEO™ family an award-winning product line.
LINA delivers the same signature and advantages of self-powered design, linear response, and precise directional control as its bigger siblings LEO-M™, LYON™ and LEOPARD™. LINA loudspeakers, like its sibling

750-LFC specifications4
The 750-LFC compact low-frequency control element effectively complements LINA arrays in the lower end of the spectrum with exceptional low frequency headroom. Boasting an incredible power-to-size-ratio for such a compact cabinet the 750-LFC is LINA’s ideal and extremely versatile companion.
A newly-designed class D amplifier affords unprecedented power for its size. This innovative new amplifier and signal processing ensure that 750-LFC systems reproduce low frequencies at high continuous levels with clarity, punch and extremely low distortion.
The 750-LFC offers the same sonic linearity as Meyer Sound’s award-winning 900-LFC low-frequency control element in a smaller, lighter cabinet, making it ideal for building scalable systems to suit touring and corporate applications or fixed installations.
LINA and 750-LFC systems, like its siblings LEOPARD and 900-LFC, use Native Mode optimized for use with minimal external processing, yielding excellent complete system performance right out of the box. The use of the MDM-832 distribution module routing AC power, balanced audio, and RMS™ to multiple loudspeakers further enhances the portability and easiness to configure a system
LEO family systems should be designed
with Meyer Sound’s MAPP-XT, to effectively anticipate system SPL and coverage.
In addition to pairing with LINA systems, the 750-LFC integrates easily with Meyer Sound’s ULTRA Series loudspeakers. LINA and 750-LFC can be driven by Meyer Sound’s Galileo GALAXY loudspeaker management system which provides a powerful toolset for corrective room equalization and creative fine-tuning for a full range of applications.
The 750-LFC is available with or without Meyer Sound’s QuickFly® rigging. When equipped with the optional MRK-750-LFC rigging frames, the 750-LFC can to be flown from the MG-MINA multipurpose grid in LINA arrays without any external transition frame. The 750-LFC can also be flown separately as a subwoofer array with variable splay angles from 0 to 5 degrees. The MG-MINA grid can also be used for ground stacks with up tilt or down tilt. Both versions of the 750-LFC can be transported in stacks with the optional MCF-750-LFC caster frame and protective covers

Entertainment department to modern professional level, both providing the tools necessary to learn
and deploy professional level audio and video systems.
Goals
Audio
• Provide even coverage throughout the theatre
• Update system components to modern technologies utilized in professional environments
• Have equipment that is used widely in the professional market in order to better prepare students
for post-graduation employment through hands on experience.
Video
• Provide flexibility for the use of projections in the theatre
• Update system components to modern technologies utilized in professional environments
• Have equipment that is used widely in the professional market in order to better prepare students
for post-graduation employment through hands on experience.
Solution
In order to meet the goals above I propose the purchase of a Meyer Line Array Speaker System for
our audio system, and the purchase of 2 projectors to be utilized for the video system.
