HIGHLIGHTSCOOLSIDE BOX is a “close-loop” system (direct cooling system) where the air conditioneddirectly flows into the server-rack.On request is possible to arrange the machine for the cooling system for rows of racks(hot/cold aisle).

COOLSIDE BOX is a split system consisting of an outdoor motocondensing unit equipped

with inverter driven variable speed compressor and of an indoor evaporating unit suppliedtogether with the server-rack designed to house electronic equipment.

COOLSIDE BOX is able to dissipate thermal load from 4 up to 22kW; the modularity of thesystem together with the logic of adaptive microprocessor control, make this new RCGroupsystem the best solution for cooling electronic equipment of new generation, characterized byhigh heat density.

COOLSIDE BOX is available in direct expansion (DX) version equipped with an invertercontrolled hermetic Twin Rotary or Scroll compressors, which reduces power consumption inreal time adjusting to the real plant thermal load.

The maintenance of the machines is as simple as possible thanks to the completelyremovable panels and complete access.

PLANT TYPEDIRECT COOLING SYSTEM (CLOSE LOOP)COOLSIDE BOX sucks hot air directly from the rear side of the racks, and, once cooled,enters it in the front side of the rack.Thanks to the "closed" cooling system the electronic equipment contained in racks do notrequire fans for air circulation.

ON REQUEST - COOLING SYSTEM FOR ROWS OF RACKS (hot / cold aisle)COOLSIDE BOX units are placed in rows that are arranged so as to obtain alternate cold andhot aisles.Electronic equipments contained in racks independently provide to aspire the necessary airfor cooling.

- In the hot aisle rack expels the hot air used to cool the electronic components whileCOOLSIDE BOX draws the hot air to be cooled.

- In the cold aisle COOLSIDE BOX blow the filtered and cooled air while the rackdraws cold air to cool the electronic components.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICSCOOLSIDE BOX: Air conditioned server-racks for direct installation into the room.

The machines are made for indoor installation (indoor unit) and outdoor installation(motocondensing unit).

The constructive solutions and the internal la lay-out allow high application flexibility and the easy

access to the main components for the inspection and routine maintenance.

Machines supply fully assembled with refrigerant charge and control systems. The installationrequires electrical and hydraulic /refrigerant connections only allowing high costs and timereduction.

Final assembly on all machines before shipment including running test, reading and monitoringof operating parameters, alarms simulation and visual check.

Design, assembly and test as per the Company Quality Assurance program in full compliancewith ISO 9001. RC Group has been the first Italian company in its segment to get the ISO 9001in October 13

th, 1991 with certificate ICIM 0018.

The machines are in full compliance with European Norms 2006/42CE, 2006/95CE,

2004/108CE, 97/23CE and subsequent amendments.

COOLSIDE BOX – Air conditioner - COMPONENTSFRAMEWORK

Framework in galvanized steel sheet externally painted with epoxy powders.

Panels in galvanized steel sheet externally painted with epoxy powders and internallyinsulated with noise absorption material.

 Access doors. The doors are equipped with handle with security lock.- Front and back doors in galvanized steel sheet.

Colour:- Similar to RAL7015.

FILTER SECTION

Washable air filters with G2 efficiency, with cells in synthetic fibre, on air suctionpanel.

Differential pressure switch on the air side for clogged filters signal.

EVAPORATING SECTION

Heat exchanger coil with internally corrugated copper tubes and high efficiencyaluminium fins, specifically developed to provide high heat transfer and lowerpressure drops.

Frame in aluminium.

Condensate tray in peralluman.

FANS SECTION

Centrifugal fans with backward curved blades, single suction and without scrollhousings (Plug-fans), directly coupled to brushless type synchronous EC motor withintegrated electronic commutated system and continuous variation of the rotationspeed. The motor rotation control is obtained with the EC system (ElectronicCommutation) that manage the motor according to the 0÷10V proportional signalcoming from the microprocessor control.

COOLSIDE BOX  – Air conditioner - OPTIONAL ACCESSORIESCondensate drain system that includes pump with activation float, 4 linear meterslong discharge pipe and high water level alarm.

Floor water presence alarm through sensor to be placed on the f loor.

 Additional underfloor water sensor kit.

Timed stop of the unit. The accessory includes a button that allows the temporaryshutdown of the unit (for example for quick maintenance / setting on the equipmentcontained in racks) and automatic restart after 15 minutes. A further press of thebutton allows the immediately restart of the unit.

Refrigerant connection on the upper side of the unit.

Ultrasonic humidifier with combined temperature / humidity sensor on unit air intake.

Double power supply (230/1/50 network + 230/1/50 UPS).

The rack is a 19” standard type (482,6 mm) - 42U (1,75 inch = 44,45 mm) ingalvanized steel sheet externally painted with epoxy powders.

Galvanized steel sheet panels externally painted with epoxy powders and internallyinsulated with noise absorption material.

The server - rack is in compliance with IEC 60 297-1/2 norms

Maximum load capacity for internal installation 1000 kg.

 Access doors. The doors are equipped with handle with security lock.

COMPRESSORMotocondensing unit model MCAI 10:

Twin rotary hermetic compressors “DC inverter” type optimized for R410A refrigerant. Motocondensing unit models MCAI 20:

Orbiting spiral (SCROLL) hermetic compressors “DC inverter” type with spiral profileoptimized for R410A refrigerant.

CONDENSING COIL

 All-aluminium microchannel heat exchanger coil, specifically developed to providehigh heat transfer and lower pressure drops.Moreover microchannel technology reduces the weight of the component and therefrigerant charge.

FANS SECTION

 Axial fans with sickle-shaped blades, fan guard and optimized for low noise levels.

Brushless type synchronous EC motor with integrated electronic commutated systemand continuous variation of the rotation speed. The motor rotation control is obtainedwith the EC system (Electronic Commutation) that manage the motor according tothe 0÷10V proportional signal coming from the microprocessor control.

MICROPROCESSOR CONTROL SYSTEM

Semi-graphic LCD display 132 x 64 pixel (text mode, 8 lines x 22 rows or 4 lines x 11 rows).By pressing any key the white backlight of display and keyboards is activated. The backlightturns off after 2 minutes with no additional digits.With alarm presence the key ALARM is backlit in red and at the same time an acoustic signalis activated.

Stops the alarm acoustic signal and displays the alarms screen.By pressing "UP" or "DOWN" keys all the alarms that may bepresent will be displayed.The flashing red backlighting of the key indicates the presenceof an alarm

LAN NETWORK AND BMS CONNECTIVITY

COOLSIDE BOX + MCAI direct expansion system (mono-split or multi-split system)

The LAN network is used to connect external motocondensing unit to their internalevaporating units. It is not possible to carry out the LAN connection to the other system of theplant.

Each indoor unit is equipped with terminal having graphic display and keyboard. The externalmotocondensing unit is not equipped with terminal. All operating parameters are still visibleand can be set by each terminal of the indoor units.However, there is a RJ45 socket on the condensing unit's electrical panel for connecting aterminal to the personnel of the service.Hardware interfaces for connection to building management systems (BMS) are optionalaccessories of the motocondensing unit and are installed in the electrical panel.
